Travis Egan, per his twitter account, has accepted a preferred walk on opportunity at U of L.  Congrats to this young man and good luck.

Nice! Congratulations! A very deserving young man!

Congrats! But those PWO spots are tough just to see the game field.

Can't think of a more deserving player. Colleges are taking more and more kids from the portal over high school. Kudos to Coach Brohm for taking a minimal risk.

I think best scenario for the QB is to get coached up and hit the portal next year. He'll have way more interest then for a scholarship offer at a school he will love to commit to.

Agree on the deserving player, but Brohm is taking no risk if he is a walk-on. Travis is the one who is taking the minimal risk, walk-ons are usually just practice dummies. Hopefully someone will come in and offer him some money at another school, unless parents are just well- off and do not need it.

I agree.  But think he just wants a chance.  Like Runnin said, get's a year of coaching from the Brohms, finds out what he needs to improve on and either competes or garners more attention than this year heading to the transfer portal.  Who knows, he might just earn a scholly and wait for his opportunity.

Total conjecture. Walk-Ons are not practice dummies. Perhaps 20 years ago, but that's just not the case anymore. And the parents being well-off should not have anything to do with it. The kid can play. He's gonna get more out of a PWO at UofL than going somewhere else considering I DON'T BELIEVE he had any "decent" offers at QB

Yes I no he can play, that's why I posted. I think he is good enough to get some kind of offer. Kids are so happy to go the D1 route, until they get to college. A walk on does not get treated the same as a scholarship player. The scholarship player will get a bunches of opportunities to fell before the walk on will get a chance. Hope it works out for him.

That makes taking a PWO a little easier.
