Corbin way too low, imo. Will you give the Hounds some love when they win at Wburg this week and then beat Miami Southridge next week?
Middlesboro scored 90 against Williamsburg and 32 against Corbin. Corbin has one of the top guards in the region in Llewellyn(21.8 ppg in 2021) and five guys than can go double digits in scoring every time out.
^^ I rank them as I see them in person and I have seen 9 out of 10 in my top 10, I haven’t seen Corbin play this year. I’m sure Corbin is better than my ranking…… I will be at the Corbin vs Williamsburg game for sure

Yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing the Jackets. Corbin beat them by an average of 18 points in two games last year. The Roark kid for the 'Burg is really good. Corbin's footballers are still in the process of rounding into basketball form. Even still, Stewart, Wells, and Pietrowski have already posted double digit scoring efforts. Corbin has some great athletes and plays better defense. I look for the Hounds to win but it has potential to be a good one.

Just for the record, Corbin may end up being the best team in the region not named North Laurel but I refuse to rank them ahead of South Laurel until they break that confounding 10-game losing streak against Jeff Davis and the Cardinals. No Pietrowski-coached team should lose ten straight to anyone in the region.

Yeah, I think that's likely true. North is the huge favorite but any of those five could pull a surprise on a really down night for the Jags.

I remember my boys transitioning from football to basketball. LOL!!!! If a little point guard blew by them, they would just put out an arm and clothes line them.
They would foul out of every game for about four or five games.

Never really thought about that but it makes sense. There's not only the physical element , but the mental, as well, when transitioning to the basketball mindset.

I believe Corbin may very well be better than South but I refuse to rank Corbin above them until they end the ridiculous 10-game , four - year long losing streak to Davis' Cards. Time to end the insanity, Mr. Pietrowski.

If so, it will probably be 14 or 15 by the end of this season. Corbin lost to Barren Co. by 22. Coach Jeff Davis is licking his lips...AGAIN!!!

Yes they got killed by the number one team in the state, but other than that have looked competitive in my opinion and would be a solid 1-3 team in this region. I think this makes corbin a better team because it’s something to take and learn from rather than the dominance they have showed.(12-22-2022, 11:09 PM)64SUR Wrote:(12-13-2022, 09:09 PM)Old School Hound Wrote: Just for the record, Corbin may end up being the best team in the region not named North Laurel but I refuse to rank them ahead of South Laurel until they break that confounding 10-game losing streak against Jeff Davis and the Cardinals. Definitely 12 in a row for South Laurel, the last time Corbin won this matchup was March of 2018. With all of the talent Corbin has thought on that team, this may be the year the streak is broken. Jeff Davis is arguably best coach in the region though and will have something to say about that. Either way, it will be interesting see how it plays out.

64Sur, I think you are spot on, especially with your top 5.
I might have WC and WBurg ahead of BVille and Bell ahead of Clay.
