Magoffin- Barnett and whitaker 

Martin County- Hale and crew could be a tough matchup for anyone in the 15th region

This pre season stuff is exciting to talk about but I believe everyone is playing for 2nd place again this year.  Pikeville is head and shoulders above everyone else. Unless something dramatic happens they will represent the 15th region in the sweet sixteen.

I’ve heard this but I’m just not seeing it. The region as a whole is down quite a bit from last year so that will obviously help Pikeville.  Magoffin on the other hand has their best shot at a 15th Regional title game than they’ve had in….well forever. They have to be the preseason favorite in the 57th. I’m sure Martin co will try their best to derail that and even though Paintsville and JC are both extremely young Both are well coached so kinda looking forward in seeing where they are come district tournament. Pike Central shouldn’t have any issues coming out of their district.

 As for Prestonsburg, they looked young and without much length. Watching their scrimmage, it was pretty clear that P Burg’s 8th grader seemed to be one of if not the top player they had.

How you figure.  He was 2 for like 16 with 7 pts. Seemed afraid to take the bumps to drive in so he settled for long range 3s.  I think he shot 1 layup that he missed.  Got 1 weak side rebound put back and went 1 for like 14 from beyond the arc.  Is he talented yes is he one of their top skills players yes but dribbling through a cone isn't the same as trying to beat a defender especially if your not up to par strength wise to play at that level.
