GRC vs. Pikeville (Elite 8)
#1
It will be Pikeville (32-3) and George Rogers Clark (34-1) facing off for a trip to the Final 4 at 1:30pm Friday afternoon.  GRC is coming off of a 40+ point win over Perry County Central while the Panthers are coming off of a big win over North Laurel.  GRC enters the game as the favorite, being the #1 team in the state based on RPI.

Thoughts and predictions?

Watched some of the GRC/Perry game yesterday and if Pikeville has a lot of live ball turnovers this will get ugly quick. Have to hang on to the ball and are gonna have to make a few 3s to win this. Tough test but don't see them getting blown out like Perry.

If Pikeville plays there defensive A game and shoots the ball well this game is gonna be real good. Look at this stage in the game a lot of these games come down to who wants it the most and the Panthers play with a chip on their shoulder. Pikeville was underrated all year and I am betting those boys play their guts out against GRC.

As I said in a previous thread. Pikeville goes into this game with no pressure on them. All the pressure is squarely on GRC to win this tournament. If they show up tight or overlooking Pikeville…things could get interesting….

Pikeville is 32-2 and is #1 based on RPI.

GRC is the prohibitive favorite though.

Rooting for the panthers…..

Tall task.

Give me Pikeville by 1.

Depends on how well Warri’s can handle all that pressure for 4 quarters. GRC gets up in your grill.

Keian Worrix can be pretty pesky too. Just hope he has as good of a game as last night.

One thing is for sure we were all reminded tonight anything can happen in a single elimination basketball tournament lol

Yep.  And most would agree that Pikeville's chances are a lot better than St. Peter's chances were going into their game.

  GO PANTHERS!!!

GRC by 15.

I honestly think this will be a good game. I look forward to seeing Pikeville's defense against GRC. I've watched GRC a few times this year and they love to get out and run, if Pikeville can limit their live ball turnovers they have a serious shot to pull off the upset.

Pikeville in a shocker!!! Go Panthers

Pikeville trails 20-13 at the half.

The Panthers are playing fantastic defense but so far just can't get the shots to fall. If they can start making some shots in the 2nd half they can pull the upset because I have no doubt they will continue to play tough defense.

28-16 GRC...Panthers are entering a danger zone and if the shots don't start falling soon it could get away from them.

Pikeville just can not buy a basket thru 3 quarters and they have had several wide open looks.

GRC leads 29-20 after 3 quarters...the Panthers have 1 more quarter to start hitting some shots.

That question will always have the same answer. You will not rattle Keian. I don't care how much pressure you put on him. Now he may have gotten tired, but he will always handle the pressure well.

If I were UPike I would offer Worrix...they just signed the 2 kids from Lawrence County and I would love too see them offer Worrix. There is a lot of talent in these mountains right now and I would love too see the Bears load up on mountain talent.

Keian Worrix was the best player on the floor today, the kid knows how to compete.

There wasn’t a person sitting around me today that didn’t say he was the best player in the floor from the first quarter to the last.

Not one person on GRC’s team could stay in front of him, and he had to guard a 6’4 stud in Jerone Morton. He ate him alive, too.

Keian came, Keian saw and Keian left a footprint in Rupp Arena. That kid can flat play.
