Open Job: Lincoln County
#1
Who gets this job?

The Patriots went 6-6 last season, losing in the 2nd Round of the Playoffs to Corbin. Lincoln loses Clayton Davis, Lee Amon, Trace Bowman, and multiple starting linemen both ways. Coach Crutchfield took the Garrard County job last month, and so far two assistants have went with him. So who is a name to watch here?

Will be interesting to see. I’ve heard Baierlein, Rodgers, Cooper, & Goldsmith. Admin doesn’t seem willing to work with Clevenger.

Hopefully they hire Jerry Perry and beat the hell out of Garrard County next season.

Tommy Greer?

Why would Tommy Greer come to Lincoln? Doesn’t make sense to me.

Rodgers and Cooper were both assistants correct? I think that would make the most sense. I need to reach out and find out about this job.

Yeah, problem there is Rodgers is a para and Cooper was Head JV coach and didn’t win a game this year.

I showed the thread to a few friends in Lincoln and this is the quote I received back:

"If the administration wants Rogers they can easily give him a position in the building. I'm not sure of his college credentials. He's been the DC the past 4 seasons at Lincoln and played QB at Lincoln for Larry French.  And let's be real, if you judge any coach on their "JV Record" that's extremely foolish. Cooper went 5-1 and had Lincoln in the JV Championship in 2020. To do that during covid is impressive.  Cooper was the Offensive Coordinator/Asst HC at Lincoln Middle for 2 seasons and completely helped turn that program around in 2016 and 2017 before joining Crutchfield in 2018. Cooper is already a teacher at Lincoln High. Either one of these guys would be a better choice compared to starting over. "

Take all of that for what it's worth.

To each their own. I look for admin to make a move this week. Eager to see the direction they choose.

Ya… there is a solid idea! Let’s set the program back 10 years like he did at Garrard!

The general consensus's around Stanford is that support is behind either of the two assistants, Cooper or Rogers. Just from relaxed conversations. We will see soon I'm sure.
#12
I would be curious to know who all applied/was potentially passed up to hire one of the two assistants. Both guys seem popular within the community, not saying either would do a bad job, just curious to see who was pass up.

Have heard that there are 9 applicants thus far.

Thats pretty good that 9 people are wanting to coach. Heard like 13 or so for North Laurel. So thats encouraging that schools are getting plenty to choose from.

Why not?
Corbin is a tough opponent every year and will have to play them in playoffs every year and then you have the next door neighbor Boyle and eventually Johnson Central
Lincoln from my view takes more concern in basketball than any other sport. Just my opinion though from what others have always told me

Lincoln is one team I knew would bring there a game with the talent available and honestly played as good as any team we faced. I think alot of teams are more concerned with basketball and not football statewide.

Joshe jaggers has applied. I think he would be the best hire and keep Cooper and Roger on his coaching staff.

That’s a good one.

I heard Rogers has openly stated he's headed to Garrard if he doesn't get hired at Lincoln. Problem is he's still working on finishing his teaching degree which puts Lincoln in a bind if they have someone apply who already has a teaching degree.
#27
If Roger's is saying that they should just say good luck at Garrard. That's like a kid saying if I don't get what I want I'm not playing with you anymore or I'm telling my momma on you lmao what a joke. Known Levi for years and his dad never thought he would turn to that

Lol it’s pretty obvious neither one of you know what you are talking about…. Rogers is running the weights and off-season for LC right now without knowing if he’s even involved in the new hire so to say something like this is just insane…. True pioneer if you know him and his family so well like you claim you should know this isn’t true as well… sounds like 2 idiots to me.

True pioneer, also try to make sure you can spell and actually put a sentence together before posting so we can actually read what you are saying.
