Honestly it comes down to Greer. He is a defensive minded coach. Last year at Johnson Central, Corbin laid a egg on defense. We gave up 384 yards rushing and 11 yards passing. We got gashed......... The edges is what really got us. I honestly about lost it after that performance. I am just a fan and I could see what was happening. I questioned everything I saw that night from a offensive perspective and a defensive perspective. Flip to 2021, so far I give our offense a A+ from that game to now. Our defense, I'll get to that ......... I am a defensive minded person. I love defense. I have talked to people all over the state and the question has been the same, what is going on with Corbins defense after the Simon Kenton game?????? We are allowing QB runs or running backs to run the A and B gap and we have been giving up some yardage..... Sure we are winning, beating the teams we should beat.  Then of course here we are going up against the top running team in the state that runs the ball with that massive line. Does Corbin have the personell to matchup, you better believe it....... We got some horses and mules too.....
These kids can only do what they are told to do. So the gameplan is what it all falls back on and that comes from the coaches which ultimately falls in Greers lap. I personally want to win, I want to put whoever, wherever to make the plays it takes to win the game. There is no next week. Its go time.

I am proud of our Defense, they are undefeated and have beaten some very good teams. But our defense right now will be Johnson Centrals focus.....count on it.  Next move Greers............?

Corbins Defense........... Thats been hottest topic in the state the last few week. Im overall proud of our defense by the way,

Let me say that I don't blame the kids for the subpar defense we've seen in some games this season. The players can only perform to maximum levels when coaches put them in positions to succeed at those highest levels. The coaches have under -performed in that respect. If the coaches continue to put personal egos ahead of doing what it takes to maximize potential of the youngsters , then the thirty-nine year drought will become forty. That's the truth whether you like it or not Sarge and I'm just as big a fan as you are.

Let this sink in.  Here's Sergeant Slaughter in 1982, the last time Corbin won a state title.

It's been too damn long. Time for the coaches to check their egos and get their heads out of a$$es and lead these deserving youngsters to a state title.
Now that’s down right freaking awesome. Lol hahahah. Masterfully crafted reference with the pics. Well done sir , we’ll done. Oh and I agree with the whole ego part. We’ve witnessed it all season. Just not sure it’s gonna change. For the sake of the kids I pray it does. I pray for a injury free game for both teams as well.

Johnson Central does not stand a chance. Corbin will outmatch them everywhere but the oline, and that is up for question. Too many athletes and too much speed for JC to handle. Corbin by 4 TD's. Corbin takes the next step to Kroger.

Earlier in the season, I would have leaned in this direction as well. But game after game we see very little in the way of very obvious and needed adjustments by the coaching staff. Talent , depth, and athleticism is not an issue.  There's seems to be some intangibles that's holding this team back and it starts on the sidelines.

If Tommy G. finds a way to hold JC to 7 points I will jump in the ring with Sergeant Slaughter and take an ass whoopin' .

This game is a toss up to me.

Might favor Corbin since they're at home, but I don't expect either team to blow the other out.

Is that real grass I see in the game footage at Corbin's field? I miss real grass football in November. Looking forward to seeing a new place for football Friday night. If it is real, it appears to be in great condition for this time of year. I see mostly sunny this week, maybe some rain on Thursday in the forecast. Has the weather factored in field conditions any this year?

This game probably comes down to turnovers. JC is going to wear Corbin down with the running attack but Corbin has the ability to hit some explosive plays all over the field. Whoever can force a couple of fumbles or interceptions will win.

Look at eastern bracket
Boyle, Corbin, JC
Compared to west bracket.

This game should be next week.
I have thought JC all year but something tells me Corbin with the homefield advantage finds a way to win.
This has nothing to do with RPI. East and west was split in the old system.

Any chance that Huff plays any on the defensive side of the ball this week?
#54
I feel a high scoring game on the horizon. Corbin has talent, JC has talent. JC playing with emotion for coach. Both teams hungry. 42-35 Corbin in a offensive show case. Lol I know it's a long shot, but all the defensive talk I just feel the offenses will go off both sides. Heck we could go to extra time, and I won't complain pending temperature. Lol

I was looking at the stats and Johnson Central and Corbin are at the top of scoring columns. They both are good at what they do.

T1073.com has a live video stream. It’s not free but only 5 bucks so generally it’s less than playoff ticket prices.

How long did it take you to dig that up, I guess I stand corrected so for the 2nd time this year I’ll pick against Corbin, I guess I’ll call you and your Mathematician out on how wrong you were on the RPI by the end of the season, so I guess we both stand corrected !!! ?

That's only if the playoffs started today. You are right that Corbin will have 4 home games as long as we win out, but I'm not sold on Boyle being the top RPI just yet either. If they lose one game, after a Math guru just told me, then it all changes. Boyle is at there highest RPI right now, they will lose points every week. Wait and see. Corbin will climb every week. By the end of the last night like always we will know for sure who is on top. But if Boyle wins out, they will stay where they are at, the top. But I wouldn't rule Corbin out as the #1 seed until its set in stone.

Here is my quote from earlier in the year, how do I need to correct myself?  Big Grin

I would think if Boyle wins out they will be the #1 seed in 4A, but that’s a big if they still have Lexington Catholic to play and Fredrick Douglas at seasons end.

Wasn't trying to ruffle your feathers friend, just saying you had picked against us already LOL No big deal, I picked against Boyle myself and it came back to bite me in the arse. Hopefully you will lose your pick Ole buddy. I hope this isn't the last time this year you pick against Corbin......
