Wheelersburg has some speed everywhere. Its going to come down to whoever can contain the big play. I feel like Pikeville may just be that damn good this year. My head says take the burg at home. My gut says Pikeville 36-30.

Looking at W burg's line with their game at Ironton, Pikeville's line looks considerably bigger.

Yeah. I wasn’t there but I just know he got tossed during the game for an altercation and he’s out for this weeks game.

I watched a lot of the Russell game and some of the Ironton game and what stands out most to me about Wheelersburg is their defense. They're quick and very disruptive. W'burg also doesn't play a lot of guys both ways. Their offense isn't very explosive. They want to run and eat up short yards and clock. #18 has good speed, so you'll see him motion a lot. Quarterback play is respectable, he's good on short routes. Doesn't have a big arm. They'll throw a lot of different formations at you to keep the defense confused. The kicker for the Pirates is all state, so he can boot it. Pikeville has the more explosive offense of the two teams, but defenses are about the same and W'burg has the advantage on special teams.

I think someone in this thread said that this would be the best team Pikeville has seen since LCA last season and I do agree with that. Wheelersburg seems very well coached, just like LCA. They have good speed all over the field, especially on defense.

I think it'll be a really great game that could go a few ways. The closer the game, the more I think it favors Wheelersburg. If Pikeville can hit on some home run plays early, they'll fluster W'burg and cause them to make some mistakes, which is what happened in the first half vs. Ironton and that should give Pikeville the advantage to get on them by a few scores and protect the lead the rest of the way.

This one could go either way, but I'm going to go with the Kentucky boys, 27-17.

I remember Pikeville going to point pleasant and playing and it was a shoot out that Pikeville lost and they were some pretty strange calls in that game. The one that stands out to me was a punt that come to Pikevilles side line and the ref give them 20 yards from where the ball went out of bounds. Pikeville was driving to take the lead on a great catch by Christian But didn’t get it in the end zone. I have to say that was one of the worst called games I have ever seen but in saying that Pikeville should have won anyway. Don’t have a clue about this wheelersburg team but I think it will be a challenge for these Panthers but they can win it if they keep their composure and play their game but as always GO PANTHERS!!!

The only thing positive about all the covid BS is we get to see teams play other teams they normally would never play. I enjoyed Raceland schedule last year. This is another game that’s a pleasant change. It’s nice to see the Pikeville fans already complaining about penalties two days before the game hahah wow

Wheelersburg is typically one of the best teams in Southern Ohio and they won the Ohio state championship in their division a few years back. Most years Wheelersburg is good enough to come across the bridge and smack all of the KY teams in the Ashland area. Playing at Wheelersburg has a playoff game feel to it and that have a really passionate fan base. This should be a really good measuring stick game for both teams.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a wide range of predictions in a Pikeville thread. Pikeville might get beat but I highly doubt they will be overmatched like some are saying.

Tomcats weak LOL. Undefeated Defending State Champs would have beaten Pikeville easily last season. Now to this game. Very few teams go into Wheelersburg and Win and definitely they don’t go in and blow them out….... This game will be close or a Wheelersburg Blowout. Pikeville isn’t just playing the Burg they will be playing the Refs too. Haven’t watched a second of Pikeville this season but don’t think their 17- 21 points better then the Burg.
