Just as Biden created the current disaster on our southern border, he botched the exit from Afghanistan and is blaming Trump for the consequences. So, you have created this thread to repeat all of the Democrat propaganda that you can find and argue that former President Trump - not the man who oversaw our withdrawal from Afghanistan for screwing up the operation. You and the other BGR American Communists are as predictable as the daily rising of the sun in the east.
The way that the Afghan government has collapsed is or will be our problem. Despite the American Communists' insistence that white supremacists are the largest threat to this nation, anybody with any knowledge of history old enough to remember the collapse of the Twin Towers knows that Islamic terrorism is a far greater thread, second only to the China Communist Party.
Go ahead and post your dishonest propaganda. Only dumbasses are going to believe that Biden's foreign policy has not been a disaster. Afghanistan is only his second biggest failure, behind only the invasion through our southern border that he has supported.

I have no idea why you would ask me a question on Afghanistan. Maddow has already told you what to think.
Yes it has been a disaster, but the way they pulled out and left our people and our allies hanging out to dry and in many cases get slaughtered is a national disgrace. Our military is woke and in shambles, laughing stock and we will never win another war ever. Our enemies are foaming at the mouth. Our country is a worldwide joke and of course we know where you stand....idiot...

Do you have nonsensical tag lines you just throw in?
It is one of the few things Trump and I agreed on; he supported a withdrawal from Afghanistan.
The Afghan govt would have fallen if we would have stayed there for 50 years. As far as terrorism goes domestic terrorism is a much greater issue these days. Particularly far right insurrectionists.
But, Hooter, should our soldiers still be over there?

I agree with Trump too. I will add that if Trump plan had been followed and was not working, then the current Commander-in-Chief had the responsibility of making necessary adjustments to the plan that he inherited. Blaming Trump is not a solution - it is a very feeble excuse made by a very feeble-minded old man. This country had a moral obligation to protect our Afghan allies that worked with our troops for many years. Cutting loose and running, leaving them to be slaughtered is a national disgrace. Allowing weapons and useable military equipment to fall into the hands of the Taliban is also inexcusable.
The Taliban should have been placed on notice that every infrastructure improvement and building constructed by the U.S. would be destroyed if the Taliban did not live up to the terms to which it had agreed.

Quote:Trump blasts Biden for not 'following the plan' his administration crafted for Afghanistan
- Former President Donald Trump criticized President Joe Biden on his Afghanistan withdrawal strategy.
- "He ran out of Afghanistan instead of following the plan our Administration left for him," he said.
- Biden alleged that Trump "left the Taliban in the strongest position militarily since 2001."
Former President Donald Trump on Saturday blasted President Joe Biden for not "following the plan" that the Republican administration crafted regarding a withdrawal from Afghanistan.During his 2016 campaign and continuing at the White House, Trump said he would keep the United States "out of endless and costly foreign wars," and this weekend, the former president took time to criticize what he perceives as Biden's foreign policy "weakness.""He ran out of Afghanistan instead of following the plan our Administration left for him — a plan that protected our people and our property, and ensured the Taliban would never dream of taking our Embassy or providing a base for new attacks against America," he said in a statement. "The withdrawal would be guided by facts on the ground."
He added: "After I took out ISIS, I established a credible deterrent. That deterrent is now gone. The Taliban no longer has fear or respect for America, or America's power."
Biden has long sought to end the war in Afghanistan, which has been ongoing for nearly 20 years.
On Saturday, Biden appeared to shift the blame for any sort of Afghanistan blunder to Trump, who he said left the Taliban "in the strongest position militarily since 2001.""When I came to office, I inherited a deal cut by my predecessor — which he invited the Taliban to discuss at Camp David on the eve of 9/11 of 2019 — that left the Taliban in the strongest position militarily since 2001 and imposed a May 1, 2021 deadline on US forces," the president said. "Shortly before he left office, he also drew US forces down to a bare minimum of 2,500."

If you are a Democrat president and even Time Magazine says that you screwed up, then you have screwed up in a major way. Joe Biden has totally screwed up the withdrawal from Afghanistan.
Quote:Joe Biden's Botched Withdrawal Plunges Afghanistan Into Chaos
In early July, President Joe Biden informed the American people of the coming drawdown of U.S. forces from Afghanistan after a 20-year occupation. The evacuation would be “secure and orderly,” he said, with little chance of a Taliban takeover. “The likelihood there’s going to be the Taliban overrunning everything and owning the whole country is highly unlikely,” he said.
Little more than a month later, Biden has been proven wrong on all counts.
The Taliban took over Afghanistan on Sunday, entering the capital city of Kabul with no resistance after a two-week-long blitz in which multiple provincial capitals fell into the insurgents’ hands. President Ashraf Ghani fled the country on Sunday, abandoning his fortress-like palace to the black-turbaned militants who roamed freely in his offices by the day’s end. U.S. diplomats, meanwhile, rushed to destroy sensitive documents and equipment at the sprawling U.S. embassy. The building’s American flag was lowered and flown aboard a helicopter to the Kabul airport, where U.S. personnel gathered for safety.

As Joe Biden vacations at Camp David...
Quote:Afghanistan's collapse: Did US intelligence get it wrong?
American intelligence sources say they correctly predicted the fall of Kabul.
As panicked Afghans watched Taliban fighters roll into the capital city of Kabul Sunday, sealing the collapse of the U.S.-backed government there, many Americans were left wondering how top Biden officials could have been so wrong in their recent proclamations that Kabul would not easily fall.
Just days ago, a U.S. military analysis reported by ABC News predicted that Kabul could fall within 90 days -- not by the weekend.
"This is a crisis of untold proportions," Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif.) told NBC News Sunday as Taliban militants swept into Kabul. "This is an intelligence failure. We underestimated the Taliban and overestimated the resolve of the Afghan Army."
But numerous U.S. officials tell ABC News that the opposite was true, insisting that key intelligence assessments had consistently informed policymakers that the Taliban could overwhelm the country and take the capital within weeks -- essentially repeating the 1975 fall of Saigon, when helicopters hastily evacuated diplomats from the U.S. embassy's rooftop as the North Vietnamese Army stormed into the South Vietnam capital.
The Taliban, which has long called itself the "Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan," announced they had entered Kabul soon after Afghan President Ashraf Ghani fled the country on Sunday afternoon, setting off a rush to the city's airport and a stepped-up evacuation of the U.S. embassy by a fleet of military helicopters guarded by AH-64 Apache attack helicopters orbiting the once-impenetrable Green Zone. President Joe Biden rushed to move in thousands of U.S. troops to evacuate American officials still in the capital.

From the Time article Hooter posted:
“Biden Administration officials routinely argued that Afghanistan’s 300,000-plus troops and police, which the U.S. has spent at least $84 billion to train and equip, vastly outnumbered the estimated 75,000 Taliban fighters. They pointed to Afghanistan’s air force of attack planes and helicopters, which were also paid for by the U.S., as well as the firepower and heavy weaponry.
In the end, though, not one piece of this multibillion-dollar arsenal, which now all belongs to the Taliban, could replace the willingness to fight or the instinct for survival, as Afghan troops saw that fellow soldiers who surrendered to the militants were allowed to live and those who fought were often brutally executed.“
Hellfire, 300k with American weaponry to 75k with shoulder rockets and old Aks? Good Lord!!

It was going to end badly there regardless of when we pulled out, which is why the Presidents prior to Biden didn't pull the trigger. Could it have been handled better, surely, but the result probably wouldn't have changed. The only other real option was for the U.S. to stay indefinitely.
It's a very sad situation there and I feel awful for the Afghan people, who feel as though America let them down.

Desperate Afghan civilians that helped us fight the war died yesterday as they tried to hang on to airplanes as they took off from the airport. Considering the many Afghan civilians who are not likely to be rescued from their fate will die painful deaths, this botched withdrawal will make it much harder for the U.S. to recruit local citizens as translators and other support positions in the next just war that this nation fights.
This was a just war. In my opinion, the time is long overdue for the U.S. to stop nation-building and adopt a doctrine that our military will only build the infrastructure necessary to win future wars. The U.S. should have destroyed the Taliban and al Qaeda's training facilities and every bridge, airport, military vehicle, and weapon in the country and left the expense and effort of rebuilding to the Afghan government.
The withdrawal from Afghanistan should be deeply embarrassing to every decent American citizen. Joe Biden has emerged as an even bigger laughingstock than he was before he left for vacation.
do you honestly think anything different would have happened if Trump, Bush, Reagan, or anyone else would have been in charge of this withdrawal? I think you’re being extremely disengenious if you do.

No matter how much you want to deny it; most of this was Trump’s plan. American troops had been reduced and the withdrawal would have happened 3 months ago if Trump were in office.
Pompeo met with the Taliban in what looks like an arrangement of “we won’t get in your way if you will let our people leave peacefully.”
unclutch your pearls, Jet. You’re letting the media get your panties in a wad. Rambo wasn’t slowing the Taliban down.
All those fellas we trained and outfitted for the past 20 years flipped. The govt. took our money and ran. If anything this proved we had no business there.
IMO we need to be looking in the Pentagon at those who have been telling us that we were making progress and that place was worth sending our troops and money.

China is already using the shamefully incompetent Afghanistan withdrawal as evidence that Taiwan cannot count on the U.S. as an ally to protect them from reunification with the communist mainland.
The lesson to be learned from the current mess is that under Trump, there was a credible threat of force if the Taliban failed to comply with the terms of the withdrawal agreement. So, those 2,500 troops propping up the Afghan military were sufficient to prevent the total collapse of the country. Biden has no such credibility, so chaos has ensued. I understand that a total of 7.000 additional troops are being deployed to assist with the evacuation but they are being deployed too late for many Taliban victims.
