Why just seniors? Didn’t the pandemic effect any other class?

Just wondering. Aren’t they playing this season of basketball? So if yes, doesn’t make a lot of sense to extend another year of eligibility.

Not just students that play sports, so if a student, just so happens to play any sport would be eligible.

The bill is for any student k-12 to repeat the grade they were in this year. They will also be eligible to compete in athletics as long as they do not turn 19 by August 1st of their senior year (the same way it's always been).

The kids that got done bad are the ones that just graduated last year. They should been allowed this.

Kentucky is always dead last at everything usually. Srs this year are playing ball. But as far as academics goes another year of in-school service couldnt hurt any.

Kids who have played behind varsity starters for years only for a chance at varsity their senior season now have no reason to participate for their senior year. Assuming they are not playing (age wise) a year behind, then the age limit doesn't allow them a chance to play varsity. In many cases the age limit will prevent this but in the cases it doesn't, those juniors this year will have wasted their time on the developmental teams.

This will open up a can of worms, does age of a Senior repeating a year come into play?
03-03-2021, 06:21 PM
I just wonder how many kids this would even apply to or would even want to do this? Some seniors will already be over 19 so they will be gone and most of the other kids probably wouldn’t want to come back for another year of high school anyways.

This is for K-12. Not just seniors.
