Chirico isnât leaving Paintsville, I can promise you that. Why would he leave a team that is going to be one of the favorites to win it all this year.
Especially over the next three years they go to the regional championship. I would want to play Raceland twice then Pikeville twice for the district.

Paintsville will be down after this year all the Pburg kids will be gone and they donât have numbers after this senior class. Look at the roster and you can see that they will probably only have numbers in the low twenties next year. They only had like 12-13 kids on the roster for junior high last year also.

Doesnât change anything. He will be at Paintsville and they will be competitive, year in year out. He has turned down bigger and better than Hazard.

Hearing chiroco is a done deal.

I would think the Hazard fanbase would know before the Paintsville fanbase would. Fake News imo.

Could very well be. But they seemed pretty sure of it when I spoke to them.

Hazard deserves a good Coach. I hope they find a Great one that wants to be there. Looking fwd. to watching them play.

I agree, there has to be good coaches showing interest and the AD just not looking at them for whatever reason

Iâm hearing two different stories from our fan base. Some are saying that heâs really interested in the Hazard job because unless thereâs a dozen more players move in from Floyd county, we will struggle mightily the next four years. Our feeder program isnât very good right now and Joe knows it. Others are saying that heâs just using Hazard for another pay increase from Paintsville. Time will tell I guess but unless something changes in the next few years with our feeder programs weâre going to see some thin teams coming through Paintsville. Similar to what happened the years after Burrhead retired and before Joe took the head job.

If there isnât any mass transfers into Paintsville from other systems thereâs going to be some hard times for Paintsville football.

Chirco will be at Paintsville but I do see this being his last year. Only losing a hand full of senior he returns a veteran class. State runner ups last season got beat by a loaded senior pikeville class. He does have raceland in their district donât know if raceland has picked up any kids this season but do Believe their QB returns. I see him either fully retiring from coaching to expand his business or moving to a big city and if the right job came open him taking it. He is not a teacher or works for the school system beside coaching he has his own business.

Iâm going to decline to answer that one. And yes I agree heâs turned down bigger and better than Hazard and Paintsville but not bigger and better than Pikeville 😁
Also, Joe does not have his own business, he is a salesman for marketing company.
This thread is about Hazard, letâs get back there. Traditionally strong, respectful program with a few Championships. They should be okay, just terrible timing with trying to find a coach.

This is just my opinion (which doesnât matter much) but as an outsider looking in, I think getting a solid coach from outside of the area may be difficult for Hazard. Other than a strong football tradition, what else could be used as a selling point to bring in a good coach from outside of the area? Convincing someone to move their family to a relatively remote part of an economically depressed area in Eastern KY seems like it would be a tough sell.

You would have to figure, anyone they bring in would more than likely use Hazards has a stepping stone to the job they want.

Someone within the current school system?

Glad this guy got the job! Great fit for the team excited to see this bulldog team

Really excited for this announcement to come to light. Familiarity is a great thing for a coach and the players. Those from the outside will look at it and scratch their head. But, those here could not ask for a better person. Wish this is where it started months ago.
To go along with it the Dawgs will get a new playing surface.
