Knott County Central was led by Mr. Basketball Camron Justice (Vanderbilt, IUPUI, Western Kentucky), Evan Hall (IUPUI), and Simon Christon (Transylvania). Cordia was led by Emmanuel Owootoah (Fresno State).

Top Dawgs: Fairdale's Back to Back State Championship Teams

Feature on Stan Hardin's Fairdale Bulldogs squads who won the 1990 and 1991 titles, one of only five teams in Kentucky to do so, and the first since 1970-1971 (with the other three coming in the 20's, 40's, and 60's).

The Bulldogs were led by the trio of Jermaine Brown (Mr. Basketball, Tennessee), Carlos Turner (South Carolina commit), and Maurice Morris (Southern Miss). Their supporting cast, though often overlooked, included Ty Scroggins, a name that Kentucky High School Football fans might have heard of, and Ty Jenkins, who was also an All-State tight end for the school's football team.

Would really recommend the Fairdale piece above if you haven't seen it. Thought it was one of the better Kentucky High School Basketball documentaries that I've seen.

Maurice "Squeaky" Hampton Feature



WBKC 13 News profile on Maurice Hampton (Austin Peay), who, in my opinion, is one of the more underrated guards to come out of Kentucky in the past 25 years.

Just wanted to add to the Fairdale bit...the documentary mentions Derek Anderson (Kentucky, Cleveland Cavaliers), as the starting PG on the group's middle school team. Talk about scary-- adding Anderson to a back-to-back State Championship team wouldn't have been fair.
