Wolfe Co 62 Breathitt Co 60 55th Championship
#1
Final from Jackson.

Wilgus Tolson with the game winner.
#2
Tolson brothers came to play in the 2nd half.
Elijah hit several 3’s to keep Wolfe in the game. And Wilgus has a 4 point play with a min left and Wolfe down 2 to give them a 2 point lead. And then drains a 15 footer at the buzzer.

The Turner boy for Breathitt is a beast. If he’s not the best player in the region I’d like to know who is. Just a sophomore to boot
#4
He played like a beast tonight. Was really good on the offensive end. And I thought he done a really good job of defending Johnson tonight. His length caused a lot of problems.
#5
Great game both teams battled all night. Say a lot about Wolfe to be able to win that game with Johnson not having his usual game tonight. Wilgus hit a couple really big shots late after Breathitt hit a couple of big shots.
#6
Maybe the best HS game I’ve ever saw even though we were on the losing end. Congrats to Wolfe County. They have a good team
#7
Jaylan Turner is just a sophomore, the kid is going to be special.

Was by far the best game I’ve watched this year. Games like tonight is what high school sports is about. Two teams that didn’t wanna lose. Both teams hitting huge shots. Lead probably changed hands 15 times. Everytime one team looked like it would pull away. The other team made a run.
Game basically came down to whoever had the ball last was gonna win.
Sad that all the talk was about the officials before the game. Thought it was a very good called game for the most part. Both teams got a couple of calls but officiating had no bearing on the game.

It was a great game and I’m a big fan of both teams, however I still think the officiating definitely favored the Bobcats. If you want to be sad about someone telling like it is and giving an opinion about officiating, then sorry for hurting your feelings, I’ll buy ya a cookie.

Your opinion of Eddie is simply not true and Wolfe got a great called game considering this was on Breathitt’s floor. It was nothing like the debacle at Wolfe the last time these teams met. Considering we have several Refs in this region that are too slow to get in position to make the correct call, Eddie Browning is one of the top officials in the region

I never said he wasn’t a good official. He shouldn’t have reffed that game last night for the very same reason that Benny Campbell didn’t ref. Anyway, great job by both teams and I hope one of the two ends up being regional champs.

I’m afraid both teams have one game remaining. Sorry, but I’ll buy u a cookie

I think Wolfe an breathitt both are very capable of pulling the upset stranger things have happened that why they play the game

Since you can see into the future, instead of a cookie, I’d much rather have some winning lotto numbers.

If y’all want to watch one of the best HS basketball games played in a long time l, go to Bluegrass Sports Nation FB page and enjoy the battle for the 55th district championship. It was one hell of a game.

Did WSGS broadcast cover the 55th district championship game?

You are correct they didn’t. They cover mainly the 54th. Perry County Central, Hazard, Buckhorn l, and Leslie. I thought I was in the 14th region draw thread and did not read your post closely enough. My bad.
