Is This Current Millennial Generation the Dumbest Generation Ever?
#1
I say it's not even close.

I agree, but generally I think that has been the trend as a whole for at least the last few generations. Each generation gets more, lazy, dumber, etc. Like I said before, I am speaking as a whole. That doesn't mean that that's the case for every member of every generation. If you want my prediction on what our future holds, read H.G. Wells book, The Time Machine. It's scary, but that is where future generations are headed, IMO.

No doubt about it but we can also thank the liberal takeover of education (especially universities, but liberal indoctrination now starting younger and younger), entertainment and sports...these young minds full of mush didn't stand a chance...kudos to the parents of these imbeciles as well...

This is how we are at a place where socialism and Marxism can take hold.

To answer your question with one word Bob; YES.

Every successive generation comes up believing things which are progressively more untrue. Take for example this idea that the world is now so different that we must accept the overt and rampant encroachment of the homosexual lifestyle as the natural state of their uniquely individual creation, if you will. In other words God made them that way. There are two constants contained in that rationale that would have to change for that idea to become true. First, God Whom has said that He will never change, would in fact have to change.

God cannot change His mind for to do so would mean He had either been wrong about something, or is about to be wrong about something. Even worse, is the idea that men could somehow be right and The Father could somehow be wrong.

Second and this is my personal favorite, is the notion that owing to man's social/spiritual evolution, the world has changed so much that the moral basis for making determinations about what constitutes wrong behavior has become somehow outdated. Which of course is a fancy way of saying men have become so advanced that they can now challenge the Lord on matters of His law.

God cannot and will not change. Man however has and will, but only in that he will continue to sink deeper into depravity. All one must do to see that fact is to look around a bit. Crime, human feces zone maps of our major cities, government okey dokes of drug usage and all kinds of rampant immoral pursuits. The comparative list would be endless but not the least of which would be the fact that in our society there are now 63 different genders to consider. God has said "male and female created HE them," and "in HIS own image." no less. Notwithstanding, when the sun goes down it looks like Sodom and Gomorrah out there.

And for another example take what Barack Obama told his many adoring college audiences. 'Large scale conventional war is a thing of the past,' declared Mr Obama. While people on the one side shook their heads at his naïveté, they were forced to realize that the college youth believed him implicitly. So not only were the kids to whom he spoke more vulnerable than their generational predecessors, but Obama himself was in the chain, having himself been indoctrinated in the self same fashion by his liberal profs. In my view what we have here are a whole subculture of liberal converts out making converts, and even though none of them have the first darn clue what they're talking about, they are willing to die on that hill anyway. IMHO, the last generation which had the proper perspective was the one having survived WW2. They well understood how drastically things can go awry. And that's why back then the Church bells rang every Sunday morning.

So I say yes, they are more susceptible to being gullible.

I agree it isn't every member of every generation, but it is certainly every generation. Without a basis for comparison, such as the terror and dread of WW2, people just keep on floating down that river of ease.

War is the obvious threat to peace, but other threats do exist. Take this deal with the Coronavirus outbreak for example. We've only had 2 or 3 deaths in America over it, but the stock market has lost over 4 trillion dollars. So when calamity does hit this nation, people who're used to running through the drive-thru every day, will find themselves with almost no options. So many folks live from day to day in fact, that when woes of the financial, famine, or health variety hit, and they will, they will be out running the streets in packs in a matter of days. But this overwhelming level of naïveté is all the result of our society being separated from want now for several generations. People 'for the most part' as you say, have no concept of being in need.

It is very scary, and way more possible than most of them would ever believe.

You think millennials are something, wait till the group behind them gets older.

Ironic that this group is needed to save the nation at this exact moment.

Yeah boy, just as soon as they all get back from the Florida beaches..:eyeroll:

As I said, the dumbest generation to ever walk the face of the earth. You fit right in there with them.

They’ve had some great denier role models: why would they do anything any different?

FWIW...
Millennials wouldn’t be the kids on the beaches. Millennials were born from 1980 to 1996 are 24-41; generally those ages aren’t your Spring Breakers.

You narrowed the timeline attributable to Generation Y to win a debate point. The full definition says the ending date of birth for Millennials extends into the early 2000's. Millenials will continue to hit the beaches for a number of years to come.

No, I didn't. When you look up Millenials that's what you get: 1980-1996. You're just getting old, TRT.

Gen Z were the ones living it up on the beaches.

Yeah, you did.

1- "Gen Y or generation Y is a term used to refer to individuals born between 1982 and 2004. They are also referred to as Millennials. The oldest of these individuals have reached the age of 34 while the youngest of this generation is of age 12 as of 2016."

Millennials, also known as Generation Y (or simply Gen Y), are the demographic cohort following Generation X and preceding Generation Z. Researchers and popular media use the early 1980s as starting birth years and the mid-1990s to early 2000s as ending birth years, with 1981 to 1996 a widely accepted definition.

If by dumb you mean do they have the lowest intelligence, then no. Millennials actually have the highest average IQ of any generation in history.

I think what some are saying is yes they have the book smarts, but the real life smarts, not so much.

plantmanky Wrote:I think what some are saying is yes they have the book smarts, but the real life smarts, not so much.

The real life smarts that the older generations are supposed to bestow upon their youth?

Every generation has its differences, but each generation wants to call out the others' weaknesses while failing to acknowledge any of their strengths.

I've got guys on my crew at work ranging in age from 19 to 67. Every generation brings something to the table, and every one has its shortfalls.

Highest IQ? Confusednicker:

90% can't figure out where their ass is, let alone then being able to actually know how to stick their finger up it. You know, such as Cardsfan.

But I get it Sonny Drysdale, I take it you are a millennial too.

Great contribution. I thought this was a thread open for discussion and not just a bunch of people patting themselves on the back over their ability to drive a stick.

Ponder this before I go though: Gen Y and Gen Z didn't just pop out of the womb and demand that their teachers and professors push a liberal agenda, or that prayer be taken out of the schools, or that the focus of their education be over 50% useless trash with no real world application.

Thank you confirming my accuracy.

People who disregard measures meant to protect everybody are self centered and arrogant. People who have corona parties and deliberately rebel against social distancing by over crowding beaches are all dumbasses.

And it doesn't matter to me WHAT their ages are.
#29
Bob and Bo are both right here. High IQ's are not the product of evolving minds though, they have always been high and any student of history knows that to be true. And unfortunately, dropping the ball where it concerns educating a society's youth is an inherency which in the general sense, is a generational human shortfall. Some societies run against the grain however, and are quite proficient at passing heritage down through the generations. Israel for example, and likely Rome.

The argument between liberals and conservatives vying for the hearts of our nation's youth, was lost long ago. Most Americans don't have the first clue as to the nature of their national heritage, or the sacrifice laid down to purchase same. But parents can't pass down what they don't know. Heck, most Americans don't even believe the libs have a plan to steal our youth while they are still in school.

As to how things shake out in this land. I did not write the checks, but I was responsible for the profit/loss margin of my company, and my job security was therefore only as good as my last performance. I hired and I fired, I had complete control of every aspect of operations and in many cases, procurement. Taking the course of my career as a guide, I know for a fact that the ratio of knotheads looking for any reason not to do their job, (and that certainly includes the excuse-of-the-day for being late or just not showing up for work) has exploded over that time. Anybody who says good help is not these days hard to come by, is wrong.

Saying that. I like the way Bob communicates because this was once a man's world. Now it's a smarmy wasteland of compromise, irrelevancy and relativity.

You're right, TRT. IQ wasn't the correct term there as IQ is basically a percentile score anyways.
