Franklin Simpson Open
#1
Coach Doug Preston resigned yesterday.
#2
Great coach. But who will replace him?
#3
Kinda surprising. They have an excellent group of assistant coaches they could pick from.
#4
Off topic. Did Preston coach in Eastern Kentucky at one time? His name sounds very familiar.

Apparently ....all that glitters isn’t gold. He will be very difficult to replace.

Thought he was headed to Corbin at one time. If he is going to John Hardin they are getting ready to improve big time.

It's not like the cupboard was bare before he got there. They played in the state championship not to long before he got there and played a very good Ft. Thomas closely and would have had a shot at beating them if not for turnovers. They will be fine.

While FS has been a consistent program....they hadn’t had the sustained success they had under Preston. 3 Straight trips....back to back state championships. Those don’t come along every day. He will be hard to replace.

The players lost from those 3 teams are what will be hard to replace. There are a few reasons Preston left for John Hardin. A serious dip in talent at FS is the main one.

While that may be true, John Hardin you could argue is in a worse shape than Franklin Simpson is at current on talent level/numbers.

A perceived dip in talent WAS NOT the main reason he left. all you have to do is ask him. I'm sure he'll share it with you
