Impeachment
Hoot Gibson Wrote:Why not? Some of the best grass soup in the world is to be found in North Korea and no country in the world uses less electricity. It is a left winger's paradise.

There is virtually no light pollution in North Korea because there is virtually no light after the sun goes down, so it is a great place for amateur astronomy, as long as you do not need a computer driven mount to track the stars.

CF1, what about it? How does a home where the deer and antelope no longer roam and there are virtually no cows or smoke stacks belching out (and farting) carbon dioxide sound to you? A place where universal (re)education is already free? Why wait for failed carpenter, Bernie Sanders, to transform this nation into your left wing dream world when a one-way ticket to a left wing dream come true could be your's today?

Excellent post. Trying to explain to these bozos there are no solar powered pressure washers and battery powered vehicles will absolutely not ever be practical in the foreseeable future, is a waste of time. I haven't been to North Korea but I have South Korea. To say life is hard in North Korea is an epic understatement.

Hoot Gibson Wrote:Hunter Biden was hired exclusively because his father was VP. When Hunter's employer needed Joe's help, he responded to the call and boasted about coercing the Ukranian government to drop its investigation.

If you really cared about an administration abusing its power then you would not be so dismissive of the allegations of bribery and extortion against the Bidens. Unlike the unprecedented sham impeachment of Donald Trump, there is enough evidence of bribery and extortion perpetrated by Joe Biden to have warranted further investigation and possibly, his removal from office.

Is nepotism a crime in Ukraine? If so they should prosecute it to the fullest extent. I guess one day the President woke up and Hunter Biden fleecing some obscure oil company in Ukraine grinded his gears.

I've said before I could care less what Hunter Biden did. Just like I could care less what DJT Jr. is doing. I do have some issues with Ivanka and Kushner since they are acting in the service of our nation.

I do find it funny that Trump wants to be anti-corruption president when he signed a peace deal with Israel's with Netanyahu, who was indicted for corruption that very day. Shouldn't we be getting to the bottom of corruption in Israel. They are much stronger allies than Ukraine.
You guys sound like those crying in the street after Trump won in 2016: "Sanders would convert us all to communism, and we wouldn't have anymore toilet paper!"

Please.

This country is built on checks and balances and there is no way that we would move from the democratic principles....wait...all it takes is a complicit Congress.

Yeah, you nailed that one....All it would take is a Communist type AOC moron to run the House of Representatives, aligned to cook up some half baked scheme against a duly elected president to nullify a previous election and to alter the outcome of a future election. Something that wild could never happen in a million years.

LOL. Her evil step mommy Nancy's doing that exact same thing right now with the impeachment sham.

I'm afraid you are going to watch several Senators admit in their vote-explaining speeches this week that the president is guilty, but they aren't going to remove him.

That kills the ole "impeachment hoax" argument.

a duly elected president to nullify a previous election and to alter the outcome of a future election

Can presidents ever be removed? All were elected and they will presumably run again if it is their first term, so when can a president be impeached and removed?

When they commit an impeachable crime.

Republicans tried to impeach and remove Clinton. He was duly elected.

I guess it just takes bozos. The political affiliation doesn't matter.

Not the point of the argument.

He was duly elected, so according to the reasoning he should not be impeached or removed.

Nobody has said that a duly elected president who commits a high crime or misdemeanor should not be impeached. That straw man argument is among your more ridiculous attempts to defend a do-nothing House that has abused the power that the public granted to it.

It was mentioned more than once in this thread, and more importantly in the Senate floor.

I’m just calling out one of many silly arguments that’s full of fallacy.

Name them. Who said that a president who is guilty of bribery, treason, or other high crimes and misdemeanors should not be impeached and removed from office?

:biglmao: All I saw were folks pointing out the fact that his election was fair, and lawful. Duly elected. You came back and accused Trump of cheating to win in 2016, then you accused him of attempting to cheat to win again in 2020. Meanwhile ironcally, it was your own party which was actually busy in Iowa once again, making news for perpetrating election meddling and trying to steal the nomination from Bernie. The facts are completely against Dems in election fraud. You guys will even steal elections from each other. But the point of the argument you made did follow that line.

You initially added the duly elected deal when you misquoted me above. But the line was "Liberals and Bozos." Try to keep up.

Not going back through the thread. I quoted Bob Seger and I'm pretty sure you or The Real Thing said the same thing. You didn't add that qualifier you just added.

Out in the real world, the president repeated the fallacy as well as Jay Sekulow in his closing argument.

President did try to cheat in 2019. Yet to be seen if it works.

I'm sure he'll use it as a rallying cry and "lock him up" will be chanted if the Dem nominee is Biden.

Did Hunter Biden get two enormous contracts from the two countries over which Obama placed Joe?

The bolded is a lie. Whether you've been duped, willfully duped, or willing to perpetuate the lie doesn't really matter. You are still willing to spread it.

As to Iowa, there is no steely missile of truth that you cannot sidestep.

Is Trump International not doing the same thing? I'm certain there are plenty of kickbacks flowing into the Trump children's pockets because of dear old dad.

I've said I could care less what the children of politicians do.

If this corruption was SO important why did the concern start in April of 2019 when Biden entered the race?

The bolded is not a lie. He attempted to cheat. He got caught and was impeached for it. 19 Senators either didn't have the courage to vote to remove or are just lockstep. Anybody who expected different is delusional. Just say you don't care what this president does.

Iowa is off thread topic. If you want to start a thread on that I'll comment.

Acquitted and it took how many days to simply determine an Iowa caucus winner. The dems are creating quite the dust up and Trump is simply thriving! GO FIGURE

Liar.

You did not quote me saying what you claim I said because you lied about what I said. The Article of Impeachment did not even allege any impeachable offenses, as defined in the Constitution. The Senate should have dispensed with the farcical impeachment as soon as the Clown Parade walked through the doors with them.

Any president who commits bribery, treason, or other high crime or misdemeanor should be impeached, convicted, and removed from office. Impeaching a president with no evidence he or she has committed such an offense is an abuse of power by the House of Representatives. Shame on them and shame on you for supporting their disregard of the U.S. Constitution.

Nah...just an alternate fact. For a Trump supporter you sure are a stickler about the truth. Maybe it's just everybody else and not the president.

Plenty of evidence and plenty more left out. You just love the guilty and hate the messenger. Your partisanship is showing.

Hoot Gibson Wrote:I don't hate on messengers but I do despise liars.

We agree.

It's why I don't support our current President.
Hoot Gibson Wrote:Lying is not an impeachable offense.

The Constitutional burden on the House of Representatives for impeachment is a finding that the President committed a high crime or misdemeanor. The reason that Democrats denied President Trump due process by denying the Republican members of the House the right to call witnesses and the reason that Pelosi is attempting to meddle in the Senate's role in trying an impeached president is that there is no evidence that Trump committed any crime and certainly no evidence of a high crime or misdemeanor.

It is debatable whether the House has actually impeached Trump because Pelosi has failed to deliver the Articles of Impeachment to the Senate for trial. If she persists, this election year sham will likely backfire on Democrats. Voters are not likely to take kindly to House Democrats attempt to smear the president by delaying the Senate trial to which he is Constitutionally entitled.

This should be a criminal case and the defendants should include Adam Schiff and Obama leftovers in the Justice Department who fabricated evidence and used a Clinton-financed opposition report that resulted in FISA wiretaps and led to the Mueller witch hunt.

I am not now, nor will I ever be a Trump fan, but Democrats' refusal to accept the results of a fair and legal election, their misuse of public funds, their abuse of power, and their criminal acts aimed at unseating a duly elected president will be remembered as a very dark and chilling period of American history for generations to come.
