TorQQue, granny, west and myself have been in talks about how to take the next step with BGR in progressing what we have to the next level. We know that forums are a dying thing in the internet with twitter, Facebook and other outlets that users gravitate towards.

But we have some things coming in February if all things pan out that will make BGR more user friendly and a overall more pleasant experience with trading dialogue on the site. I personally pitched the idea of bringing back the blog style form that we use to have way back in the day as soon as you long into the site. And what I mean by this is when you open the main page up you’ll be brought to the live feed such as a blog where all the big stories for that particular day or hottest threads will pop up. We are thinking this may be affective because it’ll immediately bring you to the biggest topics that are being discussed currently on the site. Because so many folks come on here and they go immediately to their respective forums to check if anything is new or continue on a forum they posted on previously. I just think if we had that thread with the super bowl posted on the home page in a blog that more folks would be more willing to click on that post and give their to cents about the super bowl when normally they wouldn’t care to post in that thread.

My dream is for users whether they use BGR or not use our site for immediate information. I want them to pull up BGR and see the breaking news they are looking for and then carry on with their day. Don’t even have to make a post, just get their information and keep it moving.

Another pitch I had for QQ was with our podcast started up this past football season we had a nice little attraction for it there but I’m to blame because I wasn’t consistent as I should have been but some things happened in my life and work took over so I wasn’t able to keep it regular like I did in the beginning. But I want to have a game of the week here on BGR and send folks out there to announce the game live on BGR and do a full live coverage of the game. We have so many fine folks doing updates of the games on Friday nights and we have a lot of traction on those threads with people following and refreshing each minute to get the next update. And I can’t thank those people who know who they are who do that for the site! But I believe we can’t take the next step in making live broadcasts from those games with people from BGR doing the games. Now doing a live feed of the game is different because of many programs not allowing for games to be shown live or even a rebroadcast. But just audio with people announcing the games could be something we could do and QQ agrees as well.

I just want to help the site become something that transcends a forums website. And this is QQ’s baby that he came up with many many years ago so everything has to go through him but I wanted to come on here and post a thread telling you some things that I’m thinking and then open the thread up for discussion to you you all about what you all would like to see from BGR to keep you all coming back everyday and not just for a particular sporting season or forum.

So please shoot out some ideas and suggestions!

All that is already being resolved. A new update to the host site is currently coming and there is a new user friendly app coming with the updated version. So this issue should be resolved. I personally never knew this was even an issue cause I immediately go to the normal version even on my phone because the mobile version was so bad. You couldn’t even see if there was new posts on the threads without clicking on them first.

Unfortunately jet. Doing a good job now doesn’t promise a future, innovation is what drives tomorrow. We have to figure out how to get new members coming to the site. Getting people discussing college and professional sports as well as our regulars who talk high school sports.

What about corrected thread titles? We had a rule for that but got away from it. When some posts a thread and the title isn't how it's suppose to be, close the thread and have a new one made with the correct title? If its abbreviated, no one is gonna know who JBS and PCC are.

Almost every time I see a thread like that I just go in and correct it myself.

Yes but where they are so many it would just be easier to copy and past the corrected title thread link in the incorrected thread title and close it.

Believe it or not but I hate to close threads unless they're hopelessly off topic. You lose a lot of poster's comments doing that. I think correcting the title would be better.

I'm not trying to make BGR to look like another site or anything but those other sites will shut down a mispelled or incorrect thread title in a heart beat and that's what I think needs to happen. Again not trying to make BGR into another site or like another site just brainstorming. It takes a lot of time to go and edit every single incorrect thread title. Ive been there and done it.

Well, SOK, I like to think that BGR is a more inviting a tolerant place. I have a lot of free time on my hands, so I don't mind changing those rather than closing them.

If you ever see a member calling another member a name in an insulting way, please pm Granny Bear, Spud or myself, and I assure you there will be infractions handed down. If it continues, they will be gone. Yes, there was a lot of that going on in the past, but a most of that has been cleaned up due to the fact that a number of those members have been banned.

That's the only problem I have with this site. I love coming on here and talking football. It's a great site. Actually, it's the only site that I get on. And 99% of the posters on here are here for the right reason. But there are a few that have ran off some good posters and will continue to do so unless something is done. They come on here just to cause trouble. They hide behind the fact that they have a favorite team and every now and then posts something on their team thread just to look legit but the rest of the time they just come on here to cause or start trouble. If you watch close enough their not hard to identify.

And for the record, I'm all about joking and teasing. But there's a big difference in doing it every now and then and knowing when to back off as opposed to keep going on and on with it just to cause trouble and ruining threads. It happened alot this past season. At the end of the day I'm just a member on here and this is just my opinion. Just wanted to add to what Mayfieldsportsfan said.
