KCD @ Berea Updates
#1
Kickoff moments away
#2
Opening drive... KCD fumbles going into endzone, Berea recovers.

KCD is running 7 man front wish bone, old school Belfry football.
#3
0 to 0 end of first.

Berea has drove 95 yards and killed 9 minutes on their opening drive. Whitaker to Whitaker on a 50 yard bomb, through double coverage, was play of the week candidate.

Berea 7
KCD 0

Whitaker on 1/2 QB sneak. 10 minute Berea drive, 98 yards.

Penalties are killing us. Hopefully they settle down and don’t give them a short field
#6
Berea 7
KCD 6

KCD gets return to 50 yard line, tack on 15 yard unsportsmanlike penalty and drive starts from Berea 35. Failed two point conversion.

KCD just ran one of the stupidest 2 pt conversion plays I’ve ever seen and got stopped easily
#8
Berea INT, KCD takes over at Berea 38. Berea is their own worst enemy right now.
#9
TD KCD on misdirection play.
#10
Berea 7
KCD 14

9 yard TD run, KCD. Still yet to attempt a single pass.

Berea killing their self with penalties. If they ain’t hit it yet, I’d say they are very close to 100 yards.

The passing game is there, middle is open every play. Running game is non existent. KCD loading 8-9 in the box every play.

KCD 14

Half... worst Berea has played all year. 75 yards at least in penalties. 2 big turnovers have kept us in it.
#13
Halftime

KCD 14
Berea 7

Berea has the ball on KCD 35 with 9 seconds left, no timeouts and they run a HB screen????
#14
That penalty from the sidelines killed that last drive. No excuse for an unsportsmanlike from the sidelines on a player. They’ve got to find a little running room and like someone above said the middle is wide open every play throwing the ball.

The big step up in competition probably has a lot to do with that. This isn't Jackson County or Caverna. The Pirates are right in it though

Go Pirates

It does have some to do with it, but shooting themselves in the foot isn’t helping. They’ve got a chance in the second half just have to get the penalties under control
#18
2nd half bout to get under way. Berea will receive
#19
Great kickoff return and then a holding call on the first play after a good gain
#20
Berea getting aggravated and another unsportsmanlike. Smh.

Really not a big step up. Yes, KCD is better than those teams, but they’re nothing special. Berea killed them selves in the 2nd half, and looked to have just gave up after they went down 22-7 in the 3rd. That’s just my opinion. I was on the sideline. No emotion, no fire. First taste of defeat this year. Honestly believe if these two played 10 times, it would be about even. Hopefully they use this as motivation the rest of the way.

As for the polls. Lex Herald AP and the Commonwealth Journal both have KCD at #2. That’s not RPI. The top 5 Class A teams in EKY would probably put a running clock on KCD. Pikeville, Paintsville, Raceland, Hazard and Williamsburg would smoke them. Not sure what these voters are seeing.

Rematch coming
#23
Berea just didn’t have enough tonight to beat KCD
#24
Berea will need to learn from this if they are gonna make a run
#25
Keep your heads up Pirates you still have a special year going on keep working hard and getting better...
