An improbable game to schedule at this point in the season, but the outcome can be revealing for both teams. For Tilghman - how much will blinding offensive speed be able to offset the weaknesses on special teams and the secondary? DeSales is 3-2 against a brutal schedule. Tilghman is 5-1 with a loss to Mayfield. DeSales will need to bring its track shoes as it heads west. One of the games of the week to see if you can. Tilghman seems to be working on the weak spots.
DeSales 35 Tilghman 21.

Props to the Colts for scheduling a really solid schedule.

I think PT has a real shot at respect in 3a with this game.

This will be more of a barometer of where PT is than for DeSales. Against this level of competition, weaknesses will be exploited. PT is throwing the ball some now, so the box is not quite so stuffed. Tilghman was 8 for 13 for 207 yards passing against Trigg. Damien Ford alone had 16 carries for 325 yards.

He's good. Has a pretty good offer sheet. Win or lose this game, it will help prepare DeSales later in the playoffs. It will be a good test for our guys, having to travel so far like we might have to do later this year.

Calpreps says DeSales 31-28.
This is supposedly PT's best start since 2003. Records mean nothing really. In 2009, the year PT won the AAA state title, they were 3-6 when they started the final run.
If DeSales can stop the run, they will most likely prevail. PT has not really shown they can sustain a passing game under pressure but they really have not had to pass with the backs they have.

PT will have to have some sort of passingattack to keep desales honest or this will be a easy desales win, good luck PT

PT wins this one.

Shoot... pt passed effectively against mayfield lol burning us several times..pt's running game is effective enough to get through desales.. i have no doubt.... mayfield ran effectively against desales when they were presumably better than they are this year an this running game that paducah has this year is just as loaded as mayfields ever been...freeman is lighting in a bottle, the fastest acceleration iv seen, two steps an the grass is burning..its nuts. with that said as long as pt doesnt focus on running up the middle and they hit the edges then mix in some screens an slants they should be really productive. If pt can get past the line desales secondary cant keep up.. pt's front has to have a big night..

DeSales appears to have a DL beast with 13 sacks and 11 TFL in 5 games. With the teams they play? DeSales will again remind us why the privates have it so good in the metro areas. 3A team with 5A talent making PT look average.

You have to treasure analysis of a game in 2019, which involves a comparable to a game in 2015; this season's DeSales team has a profoundly better defense than the group from 2015, for the 2015 team was likely Davis' fifth or sixth best team (in eight seasons). P.T.'s Freeman is a nice back, but cannot be reasonably considered having "the fastest acceleration" anyone has ever seen. For instance, DeSales, both this season, and the last, has competed against players that played D1 football, and last I checked, D1 features relatively sound athletes. Freeman is a solid high school player, but he is not a high-level athlete.
P.T. could absolutely beat DeSales, and even possibly win by a healthy margin, but at best, the talent at P.T. will be the third best that DeSales has faced, so far, this season; in front of a Lexington Catholic team, which features a player scheduled to compete in the SEC, which is a fairly strong football conference.

Pulling for PT. I think Desales wins by about 3 scores. Hope I'm wrong.

The importance of this game cannot be overstated in terms of knowing where everyone is in 3A. Desales has a top defensive front seven. PT has a stable of athletes and is essentially a run-only offense. Something has to give. If Desales shuts PT down, I think it lends credence to the argument that a run-only attack isn't going anywhere in 3A. If PT runs around and over them, then athleticism is going to win the division.

Wow I had better come early so I can see some Louisville private school players who have actually competed against D1 level players. That will be exciting. Imagine a school actually having a player "scheduled to compete in the SEC."
