The fact that Lex Cath’s RPI, with 2 losses, is higher than Johnson Central’s, is further proof of how flawed this system is. I get it, out-of-State opponents hurt your RPI. JC has played 3 from, out-of-state, but Lex Cath has played 1 as well and has two losses on top of that.

Next question. Where is the line drawn to separate the East and West for 4A?

Johnson Centrals opponents are 5-11
Lex Caths are 15-8

Districts 1-4 are west
5-8 are east
for round 3.

I get that but TWO LOSSES and ranked above JC and BC?

The system is a joke but I'm not too worried because we'll just keep handling business on the field while the KHSAA tries to screw us off of it.

Where online are these RPI ratings? I’ve looked and can’t find anything on the khsaa website.

The rankings system is a joke.

You only get credits from teams you beat

Not true. That's Harbin points in Ohio

Don’t care, they have 2 losses.

Nobody knew JC’s opponents were gonna have a down year when these teams were scheduled two years ago. The WV opponents are usually tops in their class.

Boyle at 3 reflects a flawed system

I do feel that after 13 weeks of football the rankings will be pretty close or I hope so! Right now it doesn't really matter where everyone is. It will not be used till week 3 of the playoffs.

Rankings stop at regular season, right?

And you only have to be Top 2 to host semi-state. Boyle Co and Johnson Central are on a collision course at UK.

Technically they will freeze at the end of he regular season. Then for 2 weeks people will get eliminated. Some really good teams will weed out. Ex Somerset vs LCA in round 2.

I thought the playoff games would be counted to seed the semi-finals.

Julian Tacket was on the scoreboard show Friday night and said not to get excited at this point, He said it should show a better result at the end of the season. It not only takes into account your record but also the teams they play and on down the line. He said it was very mathematically involved and unless you had the program they used, It would be impossible to figure out.

I'll bet it is. LOL.

I still dont think these rpi's matter because in the end the kids still got to buckle up those chin straps and play. While I do think Lex Cath has improved this season from everything ive seen and heard but for them to be ranked over Boyle and Johnson in any kind of poll is ludicrous.....

It would be ridiculous. RPI isn't a poll though.

You’re right it isn’t a poll it’s something that at the end of season actually matters and will be used unfortunately
