2006 Vault Energy Drink/KBA Unsigned Players Camp (Boys)

Coca-Cola/Vault Energy Drink is the sponsor this year for the KBA Unsigned Players Camp (called the KBA Player Showcase in 2005). There were 78 players from at least six states in this two-day event last year, and this year’s event is expected to grow to about 100 players. Camp coverage will appear on this website (click here to see the coverage on last year’s event). Over 100 coaches will receive a full camp report including player bios (personal information) which is not included on the website.

I just want to report that Shawn Thompson competed in this event and was just unreal. They had 8 player teams and a total of 9 teams, with kids from KY, Oh, In and MI. They played a total of I think 6 - 7 games as if they were playing a College game.

Shawn Thompson was the only player from the Eastern Ky that played this weekend. I have very few details but what I do know is that Shawn averaged a double double against some great soon to be college kids.In his first game he had 18 points and 13 rebounds. I will have more later and if anyone else knows please post. The games were played in Lexington.

Also this was for kids entering college that have not signed yet and was there for the college scouts to look at.
