The thing is, Foley isn’t recruiting anyone. It’s the kids parents calling him wanting their kids to play for him. I think Foley moving sparked a lot of interest from a few parents that may not have been the best Hines supporters, but at the end of the day it’s the Kids that will make the decision and These kids don’t want to leave theirs brothers that they’ve been playing with since little league.

Trophy Room Wrote:I have two comments #1 if the big Cocks kid transfers to SW they will win the region #2 You can bet, there are some happy divorce lawyers in Pulaski County right now. I willing to gamble that the new coach will cause more divorces than SW has wins. And I'm thinking SW will have 11 wins with Cocks, 6 without Cocks.

What the heck........where has this thread gone? LOL What has divorces have to do with coaching?

Let me join in, is that a pic of you and Bucwheat he has? You must work out.
If you believe Foley isn't recruiting anyone you don't know Foley

Wel mabe someone’s needs to record him and turn in him and get him fired
bandit57 Wrote:If you believe Foley isn't recruiting anyone you don't know Foley

Or perhaps I know him alittle better than you and I don’t believe everything I here and then go around spreading it like the gospel.
If some of these kids transfer the evidence will come out and there is a lot of evidence.
If those kids transfer then it’s in them. Their the ones that Will be turning their backs on their brothers, and if their willing to do that then good riddance.
Interesting Tweet came up over the last few days from Pulaski Co. It listed all the things they had accomplished over the past few years. At the end it stated why would you want to play anywhere else or something close to those lines.

I’m not saying it means anything but it’s an odd tweet to see.

Hines feels the heat. Funny that the HC expects loyalty but stepped out on PC only to run back when he saw it wasn't going to be greener pastures.
I don't for one second believe that Foley is "recruiting". I know he has relationships with a lot of kids/families in the area that might want to play for him however.

I know there were several kids/families that DID NOT want to play for Hines and were looking elsewhere to play even as early as 2017.

That isn't the reason he came back.

What’s the reason?

I thought it was because Foley was about to get the PC job over Hines' guy.

Bingo. We have a winner!
Josh Roberts deserved to be PC coach

Wont disagree but thats not who the administration wanted.
The administration also didn’t want turf and we saw the pig trough the field became. SW wasn’t any better a few years ago. Like rolled carpet that hadn’t been stretched and patched in other spots. So the administration decisions towards football have been suspect.
So it’s almost the end of the school year and so far 3 middle school kids is all that has transferred from Pulaski to SW. Rumor is that the high school kids are just waiting until the end of the school year and then several key players are leaving.
For y'all who don't believe Foley is recruiting, probably think Douglas isn't and everyone else isn't. News flash a coach talking to a Dad about his son and how said coach would love to coach him is recruiting. Right, Wrong or indifferent it is happening at SW and a-lot of other places. It depends on who you are whether you will get caught, and busted.
Complimenting a kid isn’t recruiting. Saying “I’d love to coach him” isn’t recruiting. Recruiting is when goods or services are offered in return for playing a sport. Paying someone’s rent or getting someone a job is recruiting. The problem with most people on this site is that they don’t know what recruiting means. If kids are leaving because they’d rather play for someone else, then the problem doesn’t lie in what others are doing. The problem is with the place kids are leaving. I’m not saying Foley isn’t recruiting or is recruiting, I have no idea. Be the most attractive program and you won’t have to worry about kids leaving.
I'd have to disagree, as does the KHSAA. Here is KHSAA bylaw 16: "Recruiting is defined as an act, on behalf of, or for the benefit of, a school, including impermissible contact, which attempts to influence a student to transfer to a member school for the purpose of participating in athletics, including the offer of improper benefits not available to all members of the student body."

Although offering improper benefits is clearly a violation, contact that attempts to influence is as well. I'd say speaking with a parent and telling the parent that you'd love to coach their kid = contact that attempts to influence = recruiting.

I'm no saying kids can't leave to play for who they want (if they meet the residency requirements), but that coach can't first have contact with that player in an attempt to influence.
Reminder, the kids/players can not withdraw themselves from one school and enroll themselves in another school on their own.
