From that I know Zack Massengill will be back as an assistant and Durrell White on defense. I'm sure he'll bring some with him so we'll see.

White is an addition and most all the old staff will remain. Adams is being groomed for HC and Massengill runs the defense. I would have hoped for a new staff but not what we are getting. Optimism !!!!

Middlesboro can not compete at all with Bell. They haven’t been able to for some time.

I’d say it’s been more competitive in the last seven years than the past 25-30. With Middlesboro winning your last season in 2013. Massengill’s first season in 2014. And being more competitive than the score in 2016 (38-14) and 2017 (42-21- being down seven before some major injuries at half). I’d say this game will pick up real soon. Prob more competitive in the win and loss category in last seven meetings than Bell and Corbins last seven games with Bell not winning any. And we all know what happened there with the schedule.

What was last years Bell-Middlesboro score?

Don’t remember but it was not competitive at all. Was t competitive in 2015 either. Only two games last six years that was really lopsided. But they were lopsided.

It may take a season or two but French will have Middlesboro playing some competitive football, especially with the re-districting. Even when Middlesboro has struggled the past years it was apparent that they still had some really athletic kids. Always have down there in the Boro.

What does their non-conference schedule look like this year?

Garrard County in the opener, followed by the SE Kentucky 1A district, and Sheldon Clark in the final week. Slight underdog in opener, definite underdog to Williamsburg, competitive games versus Harlan, Lynn Camp, and Pineville. Should be favored against Sheldon Clark.

If they are underdog to Williamsburg and competitive with Pineville, I can see why they will not play Bell

I hope to see Middlesboro play Bell again in two years. Really surprises me more that Bell does not play Corbin anymore. Bell program is much stronger then Middlesboro. Maybe Bell will play Corbin again in two years too.

It may take more than next year before this turns around. We have gone in the right direction with Coach French if he stays longer than a year or two.
