Which AAU basketball circuit is the best?

That's like asking which turd smells best. Unfortunately it's a necessary evil. Whichever isn't just there to take your money, and whichever your kid can get playing time. Playing time should be #1. Can't get exposure if you're not on the floor.

You are going to get the most exposure if you are playing for a sponsored team. And that comes with a lot of travel usually to California, vegas, orlando, just all over the country but you are always going to be in front of the big time coaches. If you are playing for a local team made up of players from only that area then chances are your not going to be playing in those big time tournaments. I don't know how to find those teams that are sponsored but if you can then that is the best route. I don't know if this answers your question like you was wanting but this is just my 2 cents. Hope this helps.

Not all higher level teams have sponsors. A few of the AAU teams I'm familiar with the parents pay an amount designated by the club. They also do fund raisers and set up a donation page to help fund the team. These teams also play in all of the live periods they can (Louisville and Atlanta) and get in front of as many coaches as they can. So you don't always have to play for a big time sponsored team to get in front of coaches from division 1 to NAIA schools.

Exactly, a good example is UK signee Dontaie Allen..he didnât play for a shoe sponsored team..AAU is changing their rules this year, I think only two weekends that coaches can actually come watch kids play..the rest of the time kids will have to be invited to a camp..hurts a lot of your DII, DIII, NAIA level kids..cause those camps will be reserved for the best of the best...should have left it alone in my opinion

Wonder what the purpose of that rule change is? Will there be more invintational type camps or is this just another way to make money?
Did I read that the NCAA was planning to let certain kids have agents while in high school, and if so how are the kids selected to have agents.

I hadnât read that, but thatâs crazy too me, HS kids having agents..As far as AAU goes, Iâm not sure what brought about the rule changes, some people say itâs because of the shoe companies giving money to schools and people they arenât supposed to..but donât see how that rule change will stop that...I just hate it for the kids, the vast majority arenât gonna go D1, and as far as I know, you will have to be invited to these camps..and Iâm sure that will be based on rankings and stats..I just see a lot of kids being hurt by this..just my opinion, I hope Iâm wrong and they find a way to make it work for all skill levels and kids
