Lost the top recruit to Memphis today. Not a good sign. You’ll have your homers that thinks the sun sets on Cal’s butt, but the truth is he’s had an incredible amount of talent and only has one title. If you get excited and pee your pants for hanging final four banners, then cal is the man. Now that coach K and others have figured it out, UK is going to look average for awhile.

Hes obviously not a good on floor coach. So his one redeeming quality was best recruiter.

You do have a point though, Cal isn’t an in game coach, UK has gotten by on pure talent alone. Now you’re losing recruits to Duke, and now Memphis. I never thought we’d lose one to Memphis but Penny Hardaway is gonna give Cal fits.

Yes it is miserable watching all the talent in the world come through Rupp Arena and yay we get to hang more final four banners. My issue with Cal is he doesn't recruit 3-4 year guys like all other major colleges, sure a lot of those schools have ones and dones but Cal/Kentucky is the king of the ones and dones. He's also not a good late game coach.

Nah this team won’t be ok come tournament time. They are showing the shades of the Nerlens team. Usually they do start slow but still win the games they’re supposed too. Losing yesterday shows why UK is starting a downward trend. Recruiting going down, and don’t have the X’s and O’s Coach to pull them through close games. Speaking of those really good teams around the league, little over a month ago UK was supposed to be one of those teams, all we heard was how great this team would be leading up to the Duke game, then reality hit. I’d love to see UK get #9 but with Dukes recruiting already miles ahead next year, looks like we will be waiting awhile

Exactly. Coach Cal can say all he cares about is the kids getting into the draft and making sure he gets them ready for the NBA, and making sure he can get them the best draft spot all he wants, but your everyday fan doesn’t give two hoots about that, all they want is wins and trophies. Although you do have a few that don’t think like that on here. It’s about this school and this state, what comes after isn’t my concern. Harsh? Maybe somewhat, but truth also.

You will be wrong again. Just like in previous seasons and the football team before the season. The 14 team barely made the tourney and went to the title game. This team will be greatly improved by March and everyone will see another elite 8 or further. A lot of good teams this year tho.

I disagree...we hang banners for Final 4 and titles. Tubby's later teams, and as well as Hall's, weren't even in the discussion for titles. Every year we are under Cal and that matters too.

I like Cal OK, but it does seem at times that he holds his players back and tries to change their game too much, when he should let them play ball. Like Pitino or not he was a superior in-game coach.

With 3-4 year guys that was first round draft picks ? Not many . That 95-96 team had 9 guys who played in the NBA . If only we had a 4 year tony delk.....
