Best team won, and certainly the best team in the SEC. Florida and Tennessee will make the best rivalry in the SEC for years to come....

did anyone else just see what Joakim Noah did to the camera??What was that?
04-04-2006, 12:42 AM
Noah and Horford dominated this game... glad ot see an SEC team win it all. too bad it aint the Cats though..
and FN UK and Florida are still the best rivalry in the SEC

Humphries and Brewer are both from Tennessee. Pearl is obviously building a winner in Knoxville. In 3 years I think it will certainly be the best rivalry in the SEC....

I'll say congrats to Florida and a good job to Donovan on the coaching job this year...Amazing that he lost all that scoring and won a National Title, but returned it in other years and couldn't get to the Sweet 16....Good job this year though, and I hope that's the last I see of Joakim Noah, because not only does he kill UK, but he acts like a moron on the court, and now that I'm watching the post-game he does off the court as well...
I think Billy Donovan will win again eventually but I think it will be a while...I didnt realize he was already 40 years old...
I also want to say that I'm not so much impressed with Florida in this game, as I was unimpressed with the way UCLA played...They didn't shoot the ball well, they played ZERO defense, with no intensity, and just flat out played lazy...I was really disappointed in them tonight because I know they're better than that...
So much parody in college basketball this season that anybody could have won it, but Florida got hot at the right time and played the most physical of anybody and that's what it takes to win...
Congrats Florida, and I can't wait until next season to see UK beat the defending national champs...

I also think any game of Florida or Tennessee VS. UK will always be the bigger rival because of the prestige surrounding UK's history, and the hate that most teams/fans have for them...

Can someone tell me how UCLA can make it to the national title game and play like a bunch of 3rd graders? Is that not the biggest stage they have, or ever will be on? How do you play like that in the National Championship game?? It is embarassing for their program and tradition...

Yeah I agree, as I mentioned in my earlier post it was just really disappointing to see them play so flat, and let a team romp all over them like that...Most of Florida's scoring came off of unchallenged dunks...Just an embarrassing effort up until the last couple of minutes...

I agree, you can't write Kentucky off because of one bad season...They'll be back at the top again..

Not writing them off, butUK better catch up quickly, because the East surely isn't going to be as weak as it has been in recent history. The SEC is no longer UK plus 1 or 2 other teams and the rest, it's 3 or 4 power teams, and UK is on the verge of being in the second tier....

I wouldn't say they are on the "verge" of being in the "second" tier because of one bad season...2nd tier would mean they're not even real competition for Florida and Tennessee any longer...I'll be curious to see how Bruce Pearl rebounds next year after losing 3 senior starters...
The SEC isn't going to be weak anymore, but as a UK fan I love that..I think it only helps UK with competition, and will help them in the tournament, and I definatly don't think UK has any catching up to do, but rather the other teams are finally catching up to Kentucky..

10 years ago, yes, right now, noooooooooo way....
UK should be a consistant NCAA tournament team, but I'm positive SEC tournaments will not be an every year occurance......
Once you get into the tournament, it's about matchups. UK certainly needs a talent upgrade, but the most talented team rarely wins the tournament. You play well for 6 games, your the champ....
Florida played a great game and had a great year, I look forward to next October 15 already....

Kentucky will be back....don't you worry about that.
Look at those years UNC was down, and then look what they did last year.
You won't keep a great team down long before the cream rises to the top

Florida was the much better team tonight... they proved there wasnt a team in the league who could play with them when they were at the top of their game

Congrats to the Gators for bringing the championship back to the SEC. Good luck in the future. :letsparty

Game was not really worth watching UCLA never put up much of a fight at all. Florida dominated them. :boosign: I can't stand Donovan or Noah at all
04-04-2006, 02:55 PM
Great win for Billy D. Go Florida.
04-04-2006, 06:31 PM
Congrats to Florida. They just flat out dominated. Brewer who is the underrated defensive specialist on the Gators shut down Aaron Affalo holding him to 8 points and Farmar had 18 but shot 8/21 from the field. And what is there to say about Noah and Horford and the rest of the gang, they played awesome. And next year UF I think can repeat.

Congrats to Billy Donovan and the Gators
