Paintsville 6 Raceland 0

Wow, Congratulations Paintsville :Cheerlead

Rams are still napping from being off for two weeks Hahahah. Not good having a off week the Fairview then Paintsville.Rams need help. They have the look of a lot of other good Rams teams that lose something late in the season. Its easy to hand the ball off but it takes a little something special to stay creative in your passing game late in the season and we have went away from that.I don’t believe this team can reach their goals after tonight’s performance

If you really think about it we haven’t played well at home at all this year.

Mister D Wrote:Raceland was no doubt lethargic and had some very questionable playcalling. But that Tigers defense played a well of a game. They swarmed to the ball, were hard hitting, and made the big time plays to keep Raceland out of the end zone. A lot of people left Paintsville for dead after the Pikeville beatdown but this team is right in the thick of things going into the playoffs.

I for one Pikeville fan never doubted Paintsville would not be right back in it. Don’t think for one minute that the Rams won’t be back either. Going to take a great effort for any team that comes out of the east. As always GO PANTHERS!!!

I’m a Paintsville dude 100%. That said, totally shocked that paintsville came out with the W. I’m happy for them, don’t get me wrong, but the tigers are going to have to find some sort of offense to accomplish much more of a feat than beating the rams at home. Really proud of the win, and hope this can give the boys a sense of direction offensively going forward

I think the rams got the wake up call they needed tonight.

Weird. I guess teams handle byes differently. For example, Pikeville has had two. Beat Paintsville after a bye and beat Phelps. I’m guessing it’s maybe how the week off is spent prepping or something. Odd to see Raceland come out flat with district title on the line.
#38
Anyone with some stats? I watched some of this game online while watching Perry Central choke for a district title.
#39
Perry Central didn't choke. They got beat by the district champs. Paintsville is better than being given credit for. They are district champs.

Very true

Imo, we lost this game on our first offensive series when we attempted 3 straight passes. Then the new wrinkle with the Wing offense. I like seeing it, but why you try it in a game like this is beyond me. Paintsville is a pretty damn good defensive unit. Especially against the run. Jake wasnt under a tremendous amount if pressure, he just didnt make the throws he had made leading into this weeks game. We found some success running off tackle, which imo, is the only place anyone will consistently be able to run the ball against the tigers this year, but after picking up 27 yards doing so in what I believe was our last offensive series, we went right back to the middle. Just a bad ball game for the Rams. Havent seen this team play like this all year. Better wake up or this season will end like so many others have, talking about all the tallent, but coming up short.

Great win for the Tigers. Got a chance to watch Ashland last night. Raceland and Paintsville better than them. JC in a class of its own. Paintsville improving each week. If the offense continues to improve they could be a hard out.

Where’s Dougie? I need to know if Paintsville’s defense is a good class A defense or not?
#44
Dougie hasn't had much to say about Paintsville lately.

I don’t think PJDoug isn’t feeling very well he hasn’t been on here much of late. But 2000PHS did Seth start playing football or has he been playing all the time? That’s who I was talking about in the other thread.

This one shocks me

It didn’t me even though I thought the Rams would win. If you pay attention to the east any of these four teams can beat the other ones on any given night. Like I said before it’s a war in the east and any could win it. As always GO PANTHERS!!!

If you are talking about Seth Williams, he had to have came out for football in the last couple of weeks. He did not play last year and did not start at the start of the season.

He would say you cant give up 37 to Hazard and 36 and 450 yards to Pikeville and be a good defense. Since you asked.
#51
But he would give big props to the Raceland g00se egg!
#52
This had to be like watching paint dry...

It actually wasnt a boring game. Defenses both played really well. Hyden just made a few more plays down field that won them the ball game. Heighton didnt look rattled in the pocket, he just didnt make the throws he has made all year leading up to it. Both teams need to be far more polished offensively if they want to get to Lexington though.
#54
I do agree that this team is giving off the same vibes if other really good raceland teams in the past. That just seem to lose something around week 7 or 8.
#55
Which I did not expect to happen. We will see how we respond on senior night against a red devil squad that is playing some good ball right now.
#56
Hard to believe with Raceland having more speed than the Greatest Show on Turf that they couldn’t muster up 1 single point. Confusednicker:

No excuses played like poop , all credit to Paintsville

Watched this game last night and was really impressed on how these young men handle themselves in a knock down drag out fight. No personal fouls after the plays just guys doing their jobs and playing hard. Raceland left points of the board which will kill any team but so did Paintsville. Next game will be the same war these guys had this time. They will meet again so good luck to both but as always GO PANTHERS!!!

This is the year Paintsville makes it to the class A finals against beechwood

I will say this though about that statement. It very well possibly could happen. Hazard got hot in 2016 and it carried them all the way to the title game.
