Congrats pirates. I figured Haywood would come up with something to counter the panthers passing game. Sounds like Pikeville is also a good team this year. Good luck to all.

Turnovers told the tale tonight. IMO both teams showed they are as good as advertised, but also both showed what they need to work on before the post season starts. Got to give a shout out to Connor Roberts. Yes the kid threw 3 picks but he still played his guts out and NEVER gave up! Good luck to Belfry the rest of the way and keep your heads up Panthers!

Slug fest. Physical game from both teams and Belfry held when they needed to. Both teams have some “dudes” and Dixon is a game changer. Hats off to the crowd for both teams. There was some energy there tonight. Congrats to both this rivalry has been revived some IMO.

Pikeville is a darn good football team.

Best Pikeville Offense in a looooooong time. Belfry can count themselves fortunate on those turnovers because this was actually a pretty even matchup, I am calling my shot now, Pikeville vs. Beechwood in an absolute slobber knocker.

Love the homerun ability of Belfry though. Dixon is the truth and Bentley is having a breakout season.

As good as Belfry's Offense is, they will not have a prayer in 3A if they can't find a way to play teams who can run from the spread better.

I agree. Beechwood is tough, but I think Pikeville will be able to give them more than they want come playoff time.

Wonder when the last time Pikeville had 407 yards against the Pirates? Lol

272 on the ground on 59 attempts.

12/21 through the air for 135 yards.

Just couldnât contain the edge for Belfry. But a lot to learn and I am happy it was competitive, but think Pikeville had chances.

Congrats to the Pirates. See you again at CAM in 2019.

Pikeville will be just fine. The Panthers really impressed me tonight. Better than I really thought they were. You guys have a beast at QB. And I liked the RB #15 to. You guys get ready for a deep run in November.

Other than that, great game between two very good teams. Play calling for Pikeville got too cute. Run the football. The team that did that got the W.

Tough loss because we had our chances and didn’t capitalize. Two interceptions on tipped passes, one overthrown pass due to Hensley cramping up running his route. Nothing Roberts could do on that one. It was a great game, honestly felt like Pikeville was in it until the end. Great learning experience that will serve us well for the 1A portion of our schedule. Congrats to the Pirates, I’ll be pulling for you to get to Kroger, as always! Awesome crowd! Stands started filling up an hour and a half to two hours before the game. Electric atmosphere!

Pikeville had nothing to hang their heads about. Yeah the turnovers got ya, but your team didnt give up.

McNamee is a good coach, but I think the clock management by Pikeville in the last 5 mins was a bit concerning.

Belfry has the big play capability and last night it showed. They turned turnovers into points. Also, when it was 15-15, Belfry broke that 81 yard score to swing the Big Mo back to them right before the half.

I just can't say enough about those two goal line stands keeping Pikeville from 2 scores.

This game was a great test for Belfry and exactly what they needed.

Hopefully Belfry and Pikeville will be in Lexington the first week of December!

You need to change your handle to Whining Mob.

A kid isn't going to lose captain status over an admittedly stupid retaliation penalty in a game where he and his teammates were constantly being targeted. Did you see any cheap shots by him or anyone else last night? Not who he is, not who they are. I'm sure the penalty vs. Paintsville was dealt with in a major way internally.

Congrats to the Pirates. Two even teams IMO but Belfry did what they had to do to get the win. Good luck the rest of the way to both teams.

Itâs fine your coach upholds kids that try to injure other players just admit that? Thatâs your leadership lol canât expect that kid to do things the Pikeville way tho he ainât been there long enough to know better. I just donât think Iâm gonna trot a kid out as a captain and a leader when he does something that stupid the week before. But itâs fine. Uphold him. Says a ton about your character.
