Belfry @ Pikeville 9/14
EKUAlum05 Wrote:That's 2014 actually.

Here's 2015:

Going to be a great one. Nothing to be said that hasn't already been said. Hopefully everyone on both sides leaves the field injury free and both teams can springboard off this for deep runs into November.

Nothing but respect for this Pikeville team and Coach Mac. Belfry better bring their A-game cause the Panthers can play.

Thanks for the correction, of course I meant Pikeville's last win. Good to see you still follow this site.

Another one from 2014 at Pikeville:
And EKU while we have you over here maybe you can address this that no Belfry fan will touch with a 10 foot pole:

Hound05 Wrote:I’ve said that for a long time. When you get in upper echelon teams, classes are useless. A 1A school can dress as many kids as a 6A. Now average run of the mill teams I think it matters. Because the athletes they do have are pulled from a larger pool.

Agree 100% my friend. Especially when talking classes 1A-4A. Usually, and I say usually, the top 2-4 teams in each class can play with any top teams in those classes. And I also agree about the run of the mill teams. There is usually where class really matter.
How many West Virginians does it take to whup a Panther?
pjdoug Wrote:How many West Virginians does it take to whup a Panther?

Same amount it takes for a redhound to win a ship. Except you got some of ours too.
If the LB’s play a good game for the Panthers, it will be a close game. If the LB’s play great for the Panthers, they win. Last game they played great!

It's a closely guarded secret.

6 starters or key contributors. 5 of them who have come up through the grade school and/or middle school ranks and the Dixon kid who is a sophomore now who came from Chapmanville last year and he is a good one.

So I count that as 1 as long as the 5 live in KY. Thanks for the clarification and end of the story for me.

I wish I could help but it would be a guess at this point from me.

I know Dixon is from Chapmanville (came as a Freshman), Bentley (like his brothers) has grown up at Belfry but lives in WV, Barker I believe originally is from WV (Middle School at Belfry and went to Mingo Central for a year before returning). I know Baisden spent a year at Mingo after spending Middle School and his Freshman Year at Belfry.

Outside of those I cannot tell you, kind of losing my grasp on those things as the years go by and I am separated from the area more and more.
Rashes don't live in KY do they? Asking for a friend.
And to be clear I don't know the rules anymore. Can someone live in WV or any other state and commute to a school in KY every day. Not a Belfry question but for everyone everywhere. I thought this was a funding issue.

They can, but to be at Belfry, athlete or not, they must pay tuition and Bentley's dad has said in the past he will show you his paid receipts lol.

We don't say that WV kids are not on our roster. Nobody denies that. What folks don't realize is that these kids started playing football in Kentucky in grade school or middle school by their choosing. Not because they were recruited. Alot of these kids families move here because the economy is so bad that alot of them just rent anyway and don't own and want their kids to play at Belfry. And the ones that still live across the river pay tuition. How hard is that to understand? I thought that after the first six pages of this thread was straight up nonsense that we could just talk about the game now. Man was I wrong. Some people are just on here to talk about anything other than football. And don't think for a minute that after all the success Belfry has had the last few years that if they were doing something illegal dont you think they'd been caught already? Believe me, some of you on here are not the only ones that hate us. Trust me when I tell you KHSSA has already looked in on it more than once and couldn't find anything illegal going on. Why in the world can't we just talk about football and the young men who actually play the game and leave the hatred and jealousy at the door?

So now I know. Looks like nothing to see here. Last comment on the matter is the Dixons should have kept driving another measly 30 minutes.TongueirateSho

Brother, the kid is special. Unreal speed and just a natural runner.

Someone asked a simple question and we finally got a simple answer. It was made clear nobody blamed anyone for wanting to go to BHS. You typed 10x more in your defensive rant than the simple answer that was provided LOL. I didn't even know the rules so I obviously didn't think it was that big a deal.

I try not to live in hyperbole world, but this kid is a really good one. We saw flashes of it last year and he has only scratched the surface so far. I am not gonna make any predictions on how he will do tomorrow night or in the future, but it will be fun to watch.

Well let me tell you why I wrote 10X more than the simple answer. Undoubtedly its not as simple an answer as you think! Every thread that has Belfry in it we get this crap. And I'm sure you already know this because you've seen it. Honestly, it's getting old. I'm not defending anything either. I know what goes on here. And an answer for "your friend", the Rashs do live in KY. One lives behind the high school and the other lives in Forest Hills. Be sure to pass that along to "your friend" if you dont mind.

I asked simple questions and got simple answers. End of story.

I sure hope that a simple answer was all you were looking for because I always thought you were one of the good posters on here and not just a trouble maker. Kind made me wonder by your comment that you were asking for a friend. Usually when that's said, it's kinda sarcastic like! But like you said, end of story.

It's all good. In less than an hour it will be the only day of the year I don't root for Belfry football lol.:truestory:

Fair enough. Sorry for the attitude my friend. I just see this every thread that Belfry is on. Gets old after awhile.
I don’t care where anybody is from Belfry is going to bring their team and Pikeville’s team is going to be there and hopefully we will have a good game to watch. Matter of fact I went to a game tonight to watch Pikeville Middle and Letcher Central Middle (Pikeville won). So all this other stuff let’s let it go and hope for an injury free game tomorrow night. Good luck to both teams and like I told #55PirateFan and Jet said early I am for Belfry every game but this one. As always GO PANTHERS!!!

Well said my friend. Agree 100%. How's Pikeville Middle looking this year?

No apology necessary! What we all agree on is hopefully a great game that both teams benefit from and no injuries. Pride on the line but big picture is Kroger Field! Now that I know the rules no more mention of that other stuff.

You didn't ask me but they won 40-0 tonight. 1 loss, to Belfry lol. Then beat Paintsville who beat Belfry earlier. So middle school is wide open.

Yes Sir

Wow! That's an impressive win, no matter what level. I ask because I haven't got to keep up with any middle school this year, Belfry included. Been working out of town alot and barely get back in time to watch my son play on Friday nights. I heard Pikeville looked good in Middle School this year though.

Name a few schools that KHSAA punished for recruiting.
