Beechwood @ Corbin 9/7

I know right, make a statement when he saw us play a 1 quarter experimenting cause that’s what happens in a scrimmage. But I am willing to say Corbin by atleast three scores. #gohounds

Hmmmmm.... 3 scores is pushing the threshold of it for me. It’s entirley possible. But I couldn’t see it being anymore than that. I’m thinking aroind 12-16 points.

Nope. Won't be 3 scores. Corbin will win by one touchdown!!

As 64SUR says:

Corbin 42+
Beechwood 21-

No sir, unfortunately I did not have the privilege of watching that game. Other than what I've read on here, I have no idea what happened penalty wise. And I'm not taking anything away from a very good Corbin team, I just know Beechwood and the athletes they have. Not just skill players, the big guys too. One thing I do know for sure is this will be probably the best game in the state on Friday night.

Their sophomore QB is a Highlands transfer and he’s good. He’s good enough to start at Highlands. But there it’s wait your turn. He didn’t want to wait

I don’t blame the kid. If he’s better he should start. Now if it’s a wash, it always goes to the upperclassmen. Or should anyways.

Regardless how good you are, or where you came from. You’re probably gonna have a bad night, sore, and tired legs when you leave corbin.

I think the Tigers win a barnburner 27-26.

Corbin is clicking on all cylinders this year. Estep has taken this offense to a whole other level. The defense is once again strong, and the returning players have gained some much needed experience from last years run. At the end of the day, I think Corbin is a two touchdown better team that Beechwood. I questioned how good Corbin was earlier in the season, but it's looking like they could be the team to beat in 3A this years. Corbin wins 28-14. Good luck Redhounds.

We will NEVER be the team to beat this year, until we BEAT the team that beat us.

But yes, I think we are better or as good right now as we were in the title game last year, with a ton of time to improve even more.

Should be a close one either way. I am just hoping for a good game.

Too much depth here for Corbin.. Beechwood will keep it close for awhile, but, Corbin wears the Tigers down late to pull away.. Corbin 48 Beechwood 28.. This will be the best offensive team that Corbin has faced thus far and the Beechies will find some success. I just think the Hounds will make adjustments and start controlling the game in the latter stages.. I don't think the Tigers will be able to contain Corbin's QB and passing game.. And, I don't expect another penalty differential like last years game, plus I don't think Corbin will come into this game near as banged up as they were last year after a physical Alcoa game..

That’s a good point about being banged up. Numbers wise, I’d say beechwood probably dresses 80-90 like us. Now, most of the kids talented enough to play like ours? I don’t know?? If they are I’d say it’s a wash.

Have you seen both play?

I still don't see how Corbin doesn't win this game by less than 3 TD's. And again, I'm not taking anything away from the Beechwood kids. I just think Corbin is that good this year. I think, as of right now, 2 of the top 10 teams in Kentucky reside in 3A, and it's not Lou.Central and Lex.Cath. either! Boyle and Corbin are the two headed monster in 3A and this is coming from a Belfry fan. But if Beechwood pulls off the upset, at Corbin, or lose by less than 21 points I'll eat crow and be the first to congratulate them. But to me, the only way they dont win by at least 3 scores is if Corbin gets out to a huge lead and they sub early and Beechwood tightens up the final score. Good Luck Friday night to both these outstanding football programs and I pray that these kids have fun, play hard, and finish the night the way they start the game, healthy.

Beechwood dresses 41, about the same amount of players they dressed last year.

Loved the atmosphere and field at Corbin on Monday for the Boyle Co/Corbin JV Game.

Lots of respect for the Corbin program.

I hope we meet them on Thanksgiving Friday both at 13-0.

LOL! Keep dreaming on that one son!

Hound05 Wrote:You must not be that big of a foozeball fanatic if you’re being serious. NO ONE, let me say it again, NO ONE, that we will play this year will put a running clock on us, or even close. The only team you could have seen bothnplay was somerset. And we scrimmaged them. I don’t know if you know how scrimmages work, but coaches aren’t giving anything away during them. So that’s not a great argument to make on your side. But hey, everyone is welcome to their opinion i guess.

Even if SOmerset played you guys close in a srimmage...It isn't like Beechwood won that game by 50 points or something.

This is probably the game of the week.

100%!!! I think it'll be an XP/2-pt conversion type of score, one way or the other. Those saying running clock are trolling hard, or, dur dur durdur.
#80
I don't think it will be a 1 point game. Corbin by 10.
#81
Couple of days and we'll find out. I think all the Bye week people will be traveling to this game. Those that are high-school football fans in general, for sure.
#82
Beechwood would win by 2 + scores anywhere else, with corbin home factor I’d say beechwood wins by 7

TIGERZ Wrote:Beechwood would win by 2 + scores anywhere else, with corbin home factor I’d say beechwood wins by 7

With Beechwood homefactor (19-1 flags) Beechwood didn’t win by two scores. Corbin by 3 scores.

They may have if the game had gone beyond the middle of the 2nd Quarter. Beechwood is very good returning most of last years team.

That said, I will go with Corbin because of Estep.

You can't put much stock into scrimmages; however, Beechwood was up 28-0 after 16 minutes and Somerset was facing 2nd and 20 from their own 15 when the storm came rolling in. That game was well on its way to a running clock blowout.
The results from previous games means nothing, this Friday is going to be 2 really good teams going head to head and it should be a good, hard, physical affair that will make both teams better in the long run.

You've lost your cotton pickin' mind. Corbin is literally gonna stomp a mud hole in Beechwood.

Beechwood will only dress around 40-45 players. No freshman will dress for them. Too many people get caught up in numbers. Beechwoods 11 can play and are coached well. We will see Friday night if they are better than Corbin's 11.
