Fayette County schools saved another beat down. Freddie Douglas is the only one of the bunch who can play.

Pretty sure that wouldn't have been the case but whatever makes you feel special.

Completely cancelled. No rescheduling. I was killed!! And I didn't drive up there!! I'm sure they were very late getting home in foggy/stormy weather. Oh well, on to next week.

Hard to deny Fayette County Schools as a group have under performed for a least decade.

I would think it would!

Harlan Coach said if there's a lightning delay after 9:30 their calling it and going to the house. There was and they did. Ironically it never did anything more than very light rain and everyone except TC team stayed outside just off the field.

That is totally untrue. Both head coaches wanted to play and PRESSED the principal of Tates Creek to allow that. But the principal made the call that the game would be cancelled if there was a lightening strike after 9:30. I'm not sure what his reasons were but you have to respect them.
Eddie Creech would still be there waiting if it was left up to him. Sounds like the head coach of Tates Creek felt the same way.

We always had more than one driver, so if one got tired, we'd just change out. I remember one time when we were playing basketball at Estil County and it started to snow. Interstate closed down, but we found a way to get on it. Took us until 4 a.m. but we made it home safely

But yet there was two games less than 4 miles aways being played! We knew since they kept announcing the scores as we waited in bleachers for the game to start. No rain either... and your right Coach Creech would still be waiting to play, so would the boys... After all the bears went hungry...fans perspective is TC just did not want to play. Flattering !

Pikeville has only 9 games and an open date on Oct. 5 which is Harlan County's open date. See if you can make a game between these two happen GB!

Flattering !I respectfully disagree Patriotdad. I personally spoke with Coach this morning and he told me that he AND Tates Creek coach wanted to play this game. Badly!!! It was the principal's call.

Absolutely not true. I was on the field when the coaches were talking. Again, it was the Harlan County coach that set the deadline. Why would TC not want to play? Did it sound like they didn't want to play when they came down the hill? I have been nice but please stop with the nonsense.

I have been as respectful as I know how to be. I disagreed with Patriotdad7 and I am disagreeing with you.
I don't know who you are Frank Martin but you have either misunderstood or you are out and out lying. Eddie Creech did NOT set the deadline. He and the other head coach lobbied the principal to allow them to play. It was the principal's call and he made it. BOTH head coaches and both teams wanted to play.
If you were at the game like you say you were, did you not hear the announcement over public communication??

Yes you have been respectful and so have I to you. My response was not to you but to the poster who said "from the fans perspective TC didn't want to play the game" which was nonsense. Yes I heard the announcement, yes I was at the game, yes I was on the field 5 yards from where the coaches were talking (I believe in a previous post you stated you did not make the trip so that puts me in a little better position to hear what I heard), and yes I heard the Harlan county coach say what I stated earlier. I will say this, it is possible that he was reiterating what he had been told the principal said and I heard that part without knowing the context. In retrospect that is possible but I assure you I heard it from the HC coach. Regardless, it is a shame that the game wasn't played or at least rescheduled as both teams could use the work. Good luck with the rest of your season.
