Panthers go on the road and start off the season with a bang, blasting Holy Cross 46-0 at Covington Scott High School. 2 plays and a TD (kickoff, return to the 5, 5 yd Zack Roberts TD), and the Panthers were rolling. Holy Cross was classy but outmanned in a big way. Coach Mac was subbing liberally early, and finished last series on about the 5, kneeling out to run the clock. Good win Panthers, on to the next!

Pretty much what I expected, though I really expected a running clock late in the 2nd quarter not early in the 2nd quarter. Gonna find out a lot about the Panthers next weekend when Lexington Christian makes the drive up the Mountain Parkway.

Pikeville pretty will did what that wanted to do no resistance. Not a good game to judge the high flying Panthers. Come next Saturday night we probably will get a better look at these young men. 2 of the other top 1A teams won also going to be a war in the east this year. The next 5 weeks is going to be great football and a battle in each game love these Panthers and as always GO PANTHERS!!!

Quite possibly might be the best WR they see this year, and will be a terrific challenge for our secondary. Will be good if we can contain him somewhat so it doesn't open the ground game up too much for LCA. I've not seen video so I'm not sure what LCA has this year. IMO the biggest benefit we got from Holy Cross game was getting some young 'uns some PT early that they might not see for several more games due to our schedule. Very important for getting them engaged, and it gave our starters and primary backups a ton of rest.
Holy Cross has some speed and talent, but they HAVE to get stronger, and fix their snapping issues. That's two years in a row where it has been a huge issue for them. Classy bunch though, wish them well the rest of the way.

I was close on my 54/7 prediction but a shutout tell me Pikeville defense is pretty good
