Top 4 are much better than the field.

Top 4 are def on another level. I would be ok with central being 2nd, Corbin, 3rd, and belfry 4th though. Iâd really put us 2nd though. But if belfrys main reason behind a loss to central was one player, and heâs gone now, how is it they are ranked ahead??

Mine would be:
1.) Boyle Co
2.) Corbin
3.) Central
4.) Belfry
....based upon last years finish and PROVEN returning talent.

To bad they arenât seeding the semiâs this year or we could have round 2 at Kroger. As long as you spank belfry we can play at the middle school practice field and id be fine haha. Some of them really âstruck a nerveâ weâll call it, a couple years ago. Straight class from you folks though. I guess itâs a West Virginia thing hahah😂

At times we can all be difficult. I'm trying to be honest/objective on things but sometimes others don't like it. 😊

Itâs hard being objective with your own school I get it sometimes. But reality needs to set in for some folks. I believe we are the solid 2nd best team in 3A. We might have a shot to beat the best (BC), 7 out 10 we would lose if not one more. But it only takes one game, one wrong bounce, god forbid one injury to change everything.
But the people who write these articles and vote donât know football. How can you put belfry ahead of a team that gave them all they wanted and more last year and ahead of us who went up there the next week and put them away. But itâs fine, just more fuel for the fire.
You all had a kicker in 8th grade last year that was nasty, does he start for varsity?

I agree with pretty much this whole post.
The kicker is starting and although we won't be punting much (lol), he will be a big weapon on kickoffs. Last year we pooch kicked nearly every time. This year we will have LOTS of touch backs, therefore saving our already stingy defense 30+ yards of field position.
He's ranked #1 nationally for his grade...he is incredible.

The article says the 3A coaches voted and that's how they came up with the top 10. There is a list at the bottom of who returned their ballots. I don't agree with some of the order either, but apparently that is how the coaches feel.

I watched him last year in the MS championship. If there is a kid better than him please show me, Iâll wait........
The only problem I seen with him was on FG and extra points he used a block to give him some extra yardage. I donât think you can use them in HS but could be wrong. Either way, heâll learn and only get a stronger leg, if I were UK Iâd keep an eye on this kid.
Yea youâll def pin people back with him. A kicker is the most under valued player in HS football. We had one 2 years ago that would get touchback almost every kick. Last year not so much. This year Iâm not really sure what we have. Some of his kicks looked great and some not so much. But itâs a big difference for a team starting at the 35 or 40 and at the 25 back

You guys are getting a little carried away with this Belfry garbage. So what your saying is that your using one game, the Central game, to say that Belfry is done? That's complete and total disrespect! But that's fine. Everybody that knows me knows I'm not going to make excuses as to why we got beat. Injuries are part of the game. We just got handled! Every team has bad nights and ours just happened to be in the playoffs. I'm not saying anything about Boyle because we haven't played them in the last few years and they are the champs until someone takes them out. But you Corbin fans should have learned your lesson from the last time you started talking smack about Belfry and that you were better than us. We took care of that little debate on your on turf! Wasnt that long ago. Yeah, Central beat us and yall beat Central, but just remember, you didn't beat us!

Less than half of 3A coaches (18) returned a ballot but 9 of the 10 teams listed were coaches who returned ballots (Larue Co was the only team listed where their coach did not vote).
Regardless the top 4 would be there if everyone voted.

I know Belfry is a great team/program but I also know of the top 4 teams you lost the most talent and have the most to prove. I'm not saying you can't/won't prove it, just that you have to.
I think Boyle deserves the top spot for the obvious reasons......after that, the next three are interchangeable.
Good luck this year!

Another solid post.
It's my understanding a kicking block is used until college. Anyone know this to be a fact?

I think it should be Boyle County #1 because they are the champs, then Corbin,Central and Belfry. Saying that I am a Belfry fan but the way it turned out last year thatâs what my opinion is. Now having said that this is a different year so those preseason rankings wonât mean much very long and they donât win one game. Redhound05 seems like a good guy as you do but Belfry in the last century has been the best team in 3A. I know that all teams have their ups and downs but hopefully we will get to play Boyle County in the playoffs. Wish Boyle and Corbin good luck and hope for no injuries for any team. But if you play the Pirates I will be against you in that game,so good luck

Pray tell....What "nerve" was that?? Some of ya'll are still Butt hurt??
An so it begins.....the annual "Corbin doesn't get any respect tour". 3A coaches voted on the poll.....not Belfry fans. Chill out

Any of the top teams in this class thinks of themselves as the darlings of 3a. No matter how you order it someone will be offended. The truth is that if any of the four play on a given night any of the four could win. The only thing that will settle it is to play it out. Hope everyone works their tails off and weâll settle it in November/December. I hope everyone has an injury free season. Go Redhounds!

I guess I’ll put my two cents worth in
Boyle
Corbin
Central
Belfry
But preseason rankings don’t mean a whole lot, although I do believe the top 4 are in a class by themselves.

Belfry is as strong as ever......believe that! Our Oline is the best in 3A, so you WILL NOT stop us from scoring! Teams better pray for turnovers, because outscoring us is your only shot!

Top 4 is not done. There is no reason Belfry should be ranked ahead of Corbin to start the season. I'm not biased. I don't like either team

Chuck Smith builds his defense to stop the run. With our speed we can man to man any WR routes and stack the box with 9/10. With all due respect, I'd like our chances vs Belfry.
And they play on turf. 😊

Chuck Smith will educate them. West Virginia teams shouldn't even be in Kentucky rankings anyway
