1) Mayfield

4) Desales
5) Somerset
6) NCC
7) OB Catholic
8) LCA
9) W.Verona
10)Glasgow

I'd drop Danville to #5 and move DeSales and Somerset up a spot.
#3
At this point CAL should be #1 until we see how the new line gels at MHS.

If CAL can solidify the QB position, they will be tough to beat.

I would expect the Ads to be down with hits to graduation but still really good just not #3 good. I would move the Ads to #5 and I think Glasgow is going to be a lot better. I would place them at #6 and leave the rest alone. Mayfield will have to see how a mostly new line will do to stay at #1 and CAL is going to be a threat every Friday QB or not as long as Wright is involved. That is my preseason arm chair QB take

I wonder how good the Somerset offense is. I know they can battle in the trenches.

I don't know about a top 10 but I will say your 2A state champ will be either Mayfield, Cal or DeSales. I just don't see another team outside of those winning it all.

It’s all conjecture at this point. All three of those teams are really really good; I don’t think the disparity is great between anyone in the top 6-8 teams to be honest. Danville, LCA, Somerset will all be tough outs in the east. Are they cross bracketing? Won’t the winner of region 4 play the desales, mayfield, cal region in semis? That could be interesting

I think they will seed the semi's this year, so, who knows how it'll shake out.. The final 8 should shake out like this"

OB Cath vs Mayfield
Glasgow vs W.Verona
NCC vs CAL or Desales
Danville/Somerset/LCA vs PBurg/Leslie Co

My best guess, the final 4 would shake out like this:

Mayfield
Glasgow
CAL
Somerset

I'd guess CAL would be ranked #1 and play #4 Glasgow and Mayfield would come in at #2 and play #3 Somerset..
#10
My understanding they are NOT reseeding this season but are still doing the cross bracketing.
#11
The khsaa board of control voted in January to reseed the semifinals starting in 2018. Unless they have since changed there mind it starts this season. They said they would come up with a formula based off of litkenhouse, cantrell, maxpreps rankings. Have not seen an update on exactly how it will be figured. If I knew how I would post a link, it easy to find by googling "khsaa reseeding semifinals". There is 2 articles covering it dated January 11th, and 12th one by the daily independant, and the other under kentucky.com which is from Lexington Herald leader.

Carr will be hard to replace. I think he is at Ballard now. They didn't really look to good without him last year. Wright has to do to much when he's back there taking the snaps. If they have a qb that can deliver the ball to Wright so he can do his thing, then they will be fine.

They got a young one that is small but can really throw the ball....arm talent is there! I'm not sure what else they have as an option?!?!

I’m pretty sure the seeding thing starts with the 2019 season. The 2018 season is the last in the current format. It is also the last year for CAL, DeSales and NCC in 2a.
#15
The KHSAA changed the format last year with the cross district thing, so, I don't think the semi-final seeding thing has any ties to the next alignment.. Once they decide on things like that, it typically has gone into effect the following year..

This is my understanding of it as well

I think LCA lost as much or more than Danville. The Ads do return their QB.

Didn’t CAL lose their QB to a transfer?
#22
After this year Mayfield will be the heavy favorite every year in the west.
#23
Danville lost a lot but so did Somerset and other teams. This is the highest ranking that I have seen Danville. They have some spots to fill but they will be in the mix again this year.
