Does anyone have the seniors win loss ratio from the third grade head to head?

Congrats Paintsville Tigers. Going in to last night's game, I think both teams believed the LC vs. Paintsville matchup was the true championship game. Not disrespecting JC in any shape, form, or fashion, so please I hope nobody takes it that way. The two best teams in the region were LC and Paintsville. It wasn't clear cut, but I think they were the best two. JC had the arms, and everyone knew that. But I think their offense wasn't what people had expected and losing Blanton from last year really did hurt them.

As for LC, just like JC, too many mistakes in the field to overcome. Watching the game last night I think the game plan for LC was great. They got the runners on base, they stole bases at will, but they couldn't get that hit with them in scoring position. Credit the Paintsville pitchers for that.

Good luck next week.

Who did Paintsville pitch?

Paintsville doesn’t really have anything that wow’s you right away but they are just so solid across the board. Their first four batters are all consistent at making contact and spraying the ball all over the field. Fielding was good including an amazing diving catch at the wall in center field. They battled all game long and deserved the win. This team has so much young talent that they are going to be very good for the next couple of seasons as well.

Johnson Central just couldn’t find consistent offense this season outside of Preece and Delong. It really hurt them today when they had opportunities they couldn’t get the clutch hit. I also think they were a little too passive at the plate. Several times they watched very hittable pitches go across the plate for called third strikes. JC had a solid season as always. It’s going to be tough for them without Kelly, Meade, and Gamble next year but they have plenty of talent returning so they should be a contender again.

They pitched Matt Combs to start and then Ryan Moore the last few innings.

Paintsville has a lot of young talent that are athletes and with their middle school just winning state in baseball coach Crace some great teams coming up next 4-6 years.
A few questionable calls from Centrals coaching staff during the game but basically Centrals couldn’t get the bats started.
Paintsville is on their way back up in the 15th region young talent on basketball team again with a few more upcoming middle school players. The football team been doing great last 4 seasons and from the info I got they have a few more players coming this summer make things more interesting.

The people from Prestonsburg must be kicking theirselves. Their athletes go to another school and find success. Shows the difference in programs focused on winning and bettering the student athlete and not playing "politics". You would think the rest of the schools in the area would pay attention.

Couldn’t be happier for Coach Crace and this group of kids! A lot of very good young talent and they just seem to find a way to win.

Congrats to these Tigers on Regional Championship #18!!

And they were going up against 2 of the states better pitchers on top of it.
