Wasn't really familiar with the name, but from the article I read, it looks like he has a resume that definitely qualifies him. On the surface, looks like a really good hire for Madison Southern. Will still be insanely tough in a brutal 11th, but it definitely looks as if they've done well with the hire.

Very excited. Coach Newton said last night the only thing he could promise was that his kids WOULD defend at a high level. He has a group of current Sophomores that have only lost a 6 games since they we in the 6th grade, and went undefeated as Freshman, and only lost 2 JV games last year. The 11th Region is brutal and the odds of ever coming out aren't high, but I honestly do feel like for the next couple of years the 44th District will be sending 2 good teams to the Region instead of just Madison Central.
