Perry Central coaching search
zaga_fan Wrote:You've made yourself pretty clear how you feel about it.

It's obvious they want to land some big name and that is "Plan A."

If I apply for any job and I really want it, I would be fine taking it after someone else turns it down.

Would anyone in here really turn down a promotion wherever you work because they offered it to someone else first?

I have yet to hear a big name though.

if they have the great facilities and money why didn't Haddix stay?
pjdoug Wrote:if they have the great facilities and money why didn't Haddix stay?

Haddix left while they were at the old field.
But even then, I would imagine there are other factors coaches take into consideration before accepting another job.

Given the question you're asking, I know that may be hard for you to understand.

You talk in circles. Why wouldn't he stay for all the money and the new facilities being built? it's not a top destination , and not as great as you are making it out to be ,or the top notch coach would already have been introduced to the team.

If I'm talking in circles, you're talking out of an orifice not meant for verbal communication.

I did not say Perry Central was a "top destination." I said this is a "good job," things are headed in the right direction and they have the facilities and money to make it worthwhile.

Corbin is a pretty good town, the Redhounds have a championship history and it gave Haddix an opportunity to immediately make strides toward a state title run.
Well Ovie is not a young spring chicken like you Zaga. Being the Head Coach brings on a ton of more obligations and priorities. Im sure Ovie makes a pretty good living right now being the Head Assistant. May or may not be a good career move for him but I do think it would be a good move on his part if he wants to take on that much work. And as for Haddix, he played on the new field when he coached. Dont think he was crazy about sharing it with soccer all the time though. And the weight room at the new field was big enough to accommodate about 10 kids. He wanted to have a fieldhouse up at the new field something like he now has at Corbin.

That's the only orifice he knows to spout his normal 14 replies in a roll from since he has no idea how the quote + button works. Thank god for the ignore button as far as he's concerned.

I don't think we would be having this conversation if Ovie did not want the job at Perry. But you're right, Haddix WAS there for a bit at the new field.

As for the other stuff, that's one of the points I was trying to make. There are a lot of factors that go into deciding on a job.

Did somebody help you think that intelligent (idiotic) line up? Perry Central is a horrible job for a football coach. That's why good coaches left.

I'm sure you ignored me. All you fruit cakes with multiple personalities like each other's posts and get mad when somebody tells truth Confusednicker:
I rarely agree with that bafoon, but Perry isn’t a good job. I would have a hard time calling it a decent job. Little historical success, basketball school, state contender rival school, nearly impossible class/region/district to win, Perry county pay scale, etc....the list goes on. But I hear they now have a nice field. Perry is a stepping stone job. Just the truth of the situation. Larkey took the job because of his situation. I’m a firm believer he should have never been forced from Harlan
^agree on all parts

Yea I unblock your dumbass posts sometimes to see what stupid bs you're spouting off that day, you're not telling the truth. You're being an annoying half-literate troll like you always are, this board would improve tenfold if you would just stop posting and clogging up every thread with your stupidity, you fruit cake idiot.

You can't ignore me. You like reading what I post so you can whine and cry. I am telling the truth when I say Perry County Central is a horrible job for a football coach. like it or not it is the truth.
Haddix left because soccer was allowed on the new field and he was told they had to practice on the old field No one is really interested in this job so they need to ahead and give it to Ovie. And like it or not Football takes a back seat to soccer and basketball at PCC. They really could have a good program if they wanted to if they treated it like basketball but it not going to happen.
Haddix wanted a huge raise and a new assistant to be paid really good and a field house at the new field. Perry said no and he left. Plus his wife had just graduated so he could go anywhere. I think she is a doctor

They have plenty money and great facilities and going after a top notch coach but wouldn't give Haddix a raise and a field house?
Haddix did not leave because of soccer and he was not told he had to practice at the old field. It is true that they are now practicing at the old field but that was Coach Larkey's decision he wanted a larger weight room so he asked the soccer coaches if they would switch field houses, soccer was practicing at the old football field at the time. The switch was a mutual decision between the programs so be informed before you run your mouth. The football and soccer programs support each other, if you bother to come to their games you will see soccer players supporting the football team and football players vocally supporting the soccer teams.

Absolutely correct. The weight room at the new field house is not big enough to whip a cat in, let alone put 30 boys in there with weight equipment. It's very small. The players were having to drive from PCC all the way up on 80 to practice everyday and no one was getting there at the same time. Coach Larkey and Coach Lundford traded and the football program moved back to Airport Gardens. it's much more convenient being only around the curve from PCC. The players love that old field and the fieldhouse there. On any given evening from July to October there's a crowd from 3-4th graders to high schoolers practicing or playing football.
You are right the boys on the football team loved the move but from what I know Coach Larkey approached Coach Whitman about the idea of changing practice sites and Coach Whitman told Coach Lunsford it was a good idea, he agreed and they made the move. A good decision for the good of both programs.

So, is this rule actually being enforced?

As for the topic at hand has John Derossette actually applied for this job?

Alright Sherrif, you got me! Only your reading comprehension and vocabulary is weak as the Perry county school system. First of all I never attacked anyone, I never insulted anyone. I simply said I don’t get involved with that noise referring to the chitter chatter about job changing. Don’t go trying to show yourself for what you’re not. Just because I’m right about the situation don’t divert the topic. I would love to sit here and debate writing and reading comprehension with you but a smart man never told me to argue with a vexing person. Have a day..
Lord have mercy!!! I go out of town for a few days, and you guys start acting like spoiled little kids. If I could, I'd line every one of you up and give you a good spanking!!! Then I would REALLY get bitchy and take all your cell phones!!

I have no idea why Haddix left, but Corbin should be on their knees thanking God that he did. You may or may not remember, but Corbin's football program was deteriorating by the day. Haddix has lifted that program, and made it a lot better than it was when he got there.

As far as Ovie is concerned, I understand that he wants this job. IMO, he should get it for more reasons than I care to list here.

It is Perry's job to find a new coach. I'm sure they will.....eventually.

Now stop acting like little kids, or I will impose the zero tolerance policy. Trust me.

Apparently you are having a hard time with your reading comprehension. You may want to go back and read Dusty's post. What you posted was name calling and it was derogatory. I doubt you called Dougie a "bafoon" as a compliment. You misspelled the word by the way. I'm assuming you meant buffoon. I think that violates the rule which Dusty thumbnailed at the top of every section of this forum. With you being a moderator I figured just maybe you had seen it and maybe had read it. Confusedhh:

I swear to God... Sometimes I wonder why I subject myself to reading this forum anymore.

You're going to claim you never insulted anyone while simultaneously insulting anyone who ever went to a Perry County school? And since you're playing grammar-nazi, let me go ahead and correct all the errors in your post.

My Perry County education worked out well for me.

Reply all you want. I'm not going to read it.

Davy Crockett whupped a bear with a switch. Haddix left because he had a horrible job. I wouldn't say Corbin's program was deteriorating. They were 9-3 the year before Haddix took over. I think Ovie would be a great man for the job. The kids seem to love him.
Real Badman and dougie are a lot cooler online than they are in real life, obviously. The Perry County Schools have 2nd graders with better grammar than dougie and freshmen with better sentence structure than badman. You lack the ability to love? Nice, online 'badass'.

You failed to capitalize the proper nouns, as well as the error on punctuation on your last expletive. I don't post much anymore, however when I do, I am full of factual information. You should get to know me, I'm a terrible, terrible person.

You can clearly tell who is a Perry County person, and you can't argue with them. The Commodores are going to suffer and be a bad program for the continuation of Hazard's dominance. That is just a simple fact. Sorry.
