Andrew Taylor snubbed by media?

HCS Wrote:I don't have a dog in the fight, but there is no such thing as a "lapped district." Oak Grove is in the Whitley district so the Whitley board pays for the teachers and the school and the students are Whitley students.

By lapped district I mean that there is a reciprocal agreement between the two schools that allows people to choose which school they want to go to.

Parents are just as culpable for this. I worked with a guy that sent his son to Whitley county to Corbin. When he got very little time on the field, he sent him to Williamsburg. Also know a guy that sent his son to four different schools for basketball-South, North, Southwestern and Jackson County lol.

The 64 bandwagon circles from Hyden through Whitley County to Williamsburg then back to Corbin and London. lol

However, the thought of Corbin Ind being merged into Whitley and Knox is funny

That would never happen Corbin would go charter.

I liked the recent Tubby Smith rant about players transferring saying it is teaching them to quit. He asked his father if he could transfer while he was in school , and he told him no, but he could join the army.

Why do they leave?

They can go to wherever they want for school there is a reciprocal aggrement.

Can’t recall of one kid being taken hostage by Corbin, they leave cause they want away from being hostage from programs promoting certain kids. They escape the cult

I need to work on getting rid of the agreement.
Bossdaddy 4115 Wrote:That would never happen Corbin would go charter.

Frankfort hasn’t even determined how KY charter schools will be regulated, let alone funded. There’s debate if there will even be a lone charter system opened in KY for the 2018-19 school year

bull butter.

In either case it wasn’t the kid quitting, it was mom and dad shopping Junior around for playing time and exposure
KYHoopsFan71 Wrote:If Oak Grove, Whitley Middle, South Laurel Middle etc has a talented football or hoops player, it becomes a de facto feeder school for Corbin.

It’s no secret, Corbin’s done this for years. Hence, the dislike

I can promise you that if south has a talented football player Corbin doesn't have to recruit them. No parent in their right mind would allow their kids to go anywhere near south Laurel if they play football.
Rainingthrees Wrote:I would say intense dislike instead of jealousy because of the way they win. If you live in the tri county area you would have more understanding why. 4 of the kids that started last night for Corbin are transfers into the program. 2 from the county, 1 from south Laurel, 1 from lca. That's just how they do things to win at any sport. That's why they are very disliked outside the city limits of Corbin. If they didn't get these kids that are talented from other schools they never would win much cause the homegrown talent is well not very good, that's why they go get mommy or daddy jobs at or in Corbin to get the talent. If it works keep doing it, khsaa doesn't mind.

Prove this happens in current day or leave it alone, because Corbin has open door agreement doesn’t mean they give jobs. Ask yourself why kids won’t stay in the county and if your honest about it you will admit it’s a internal problem
Bossdaddy 4115 Wrote:Why do they leave?

Not in the Corbin booster club so have no idea what they are offering these days Smile
KYHoopsFan71 Wrote:In either case it wasn’t the kid quitting, it was mom and dad shopping Junior around for playing time and exposure

Tubby wanted to transfer and go to greener pastures, but his father thought he had it made where he was at and wouldn't let him.

Didn’t see one missing kid filed during the time frame those kids transferred on the news, so I guess there parents and the kids choosing to better them self.

Nobody has to prove anything. Everybody knows it happens. Stop lying to your self.

Before we had any ties to Knox we would go charter and I am sure funding won’t be a issue.

Stewart comes from lca because parent gets a postal job that opens up! Apparently there wasn't any qualified people living in Corbin for this position Smile

SL has been a disaster in football since Jep left after 2005, that’s no secret. But it doesn’t really counter the point that Corbin recruits
Rainingthrees Wrote:Not in the Corbin booster club so have no idea what they are offering these days Smile

Name a job that Corbin could offer, railroad about shutdown, so is Wayne supply, pepsi doesn’t pay enough to reloacate, and there is no Hoover construction anymore. They leave cause they want to play for a program that’s in it to win it, can Whitley say that.
pjdoug Wrote:bull butter.

You know the c for W C stands for cult, the C in Corbin stands for champion
I don't have a dog in this fight either way but to me the Turner kid has the Edge. Taylor is a great player, fantastic scorer and rebounder. His numbers are only slightly better but should be based on what his role is. Turner stands out to me because he ran his team and still put up those numbers. He put them up while trying to get everyone involved and picking his spots to attack. He sacrificed his own production to make his team better and still put up great numbers. Career wise, I'd give Taylor the nod, but not for this season alone. JMO.

You mean it wasn’t Corbin’s wonderful test scores, theater program and bass fishing team that pulled Stewart from LCA?

Of course nobody was qualified for that job, unless said parent had a son that was more skilled.

Funny how that works out.
Rainingthrees Wrote:Don't forget Williamsburg, doesn't happen much but the Corbin quarterback last few years was once a Jacket.

He also lived in the Corbin School District. Corbin allows kids to go where they want, and we don't begrudge them or their teams when they have success. We actually root for them to have success.Confusedhh:
I will admit the Stewart kid was a blessing, I guess most of you think we had something to do with them coming and not a promotion right. Now the federal government is helping with the Corbin recruitment trail.

Corbin sweetened their own pot. Quit with the argument that kids/ parents are bettering themselves. I know of two kids in recent memory who were told they would get playing time under Jewell. Didn’t quite work out like that.

I guess they weren’t good enough to better themselves lol

Whitley hiring the latest coach says yes, our day is coming and getting closer every day. You just better keep your booster clubs loaded.
