Trinity led 16-13 after one quarter. Jamil Hardaway inspired the Rocks by diving for a loose ball at midcourt leading to a Trinity possession. Sophomore Justin Powell led Trinity with sixteen points. Junior Stan Turnier scored 13 points. Junior David Johnson added 12 points, including a tip in with an amazing corkscrew motion with his arm. Senior Jay Scrubb added 10 points as Trinity defeated their archrivals for the 15th time in their last 17 games. Trinity has won 6 in a row and now leads the overall series 44-38. These two started playing varsity basketball in 1956.

St. Xavier's Pierce Kiesler scored 14 points in his final game as a Tiger.

Trinity will need their best effort in 2018 in the Seventh Region final Monday night versus Ballard.
