One of Saddam's ex-generals was just on the Daily Show, he said that there was weapons of mass destruction in Iraq just before the US invasion, and that Saddam had them moved to Syria. He saw them himself, in person, and even talked to pilots who flew them. He said that the Bush Administration is just waiting to be able to prove it. Everyone criticized Bush and said he made up the WMD for oil, maybe they were all wrong

Anyone got any links to sites that are posting this story. I didn't get to see the daily show but would love to read about this.

You think maybe the government told him to say that out of a plea bargaining deal? I would say anything to keep from going to jail or getting the death penalty. There are always two sides to every story.

I'm still anti-Bush.

Well I think it may be the case, he had plenty of time to move them and nothing would surprise me with it, but i still think we should have came home long ago.

I don't think there ever was any WMD at all. I think it was just a cover story to finish the job that Daddy started in 1992...

Hey torQQue, the general has a book called "Saddam's Secrets"
You should pick that up, they said his story about the WMD was in there.

Why would they put it on a channel like Comedy Central when not many people could hear it?

He wouldn't need a plea-bargaining deal, he's free, he's still in the Iraq government, he said that he was afraid and that everyone was afraid

Bush is a joke, I have never supported this war with Iraq and never will. He had alterior motives to go into Iraq like someone said earlier to finish what his daddy couldn't. Our young men and women should of been home along time ago and now I'm hearing they will be there through 2008, that's rediculous.

A panel of experts sat down and it was their decision to go into Iraq. They told Bush that it might be very harmful not to go into Iraq. From what this dude said, it sounds legit

Because it's a joke just like Bush.

You just answered your own ?. He's a free man and is afraid. You think maybe he is afraid not to say what he is told to say by the bush administration. I'm not saying the war was for oil. I'm just saying that he didn't have a legitimate reason for starting it. He went against the United Nations. Whats the reason for having the UN if were not going to honor their rules?

Because maybe the rest of the world's a bunch of pansies and if we waited for them to decide what's good for us, we might all be dead

Their research can't go back and make the guy not be where he was. It was on the Daily Show and they had a civilized conversation. If he was making a deal to the US, they would have had him on National TV, I don't know, we'll see if what he said about the US waiting to get solid proof is true

You say we shouldn't let the rest of the world decide whats good for us, but what gives us the right to decide whats good for the Iraq nation. The Bush administration claims the war was for WMD and to make Iraq a democracy. Maybe they didn't want that. And if thats the case, what about North Korea, China and so on. We might as well just start a war with all of them too. They have WMD. I respect your decision to side with Bush, but just a ?. How many times have you voted on the Presidental election and are your views yours or are they trickleing down from your family and their political views. Just curious.

It was on CNN, Fox News and nearly every tv station in W.Va. that all 12 miners were alive. That wasn't true. And you missed my point. If he was making a deal to say that, the gov. would not want people to know about it. I'm not saying thats the case and there was a deal, I have no proof of that. I'm just trying to show that there are two sides to every story.

I'm with BFritz on this. The US had to go into Iraq without the help of the UN. But incase you didn't notice, we had the help of many other nations (that were too a part of the UN). Obviously the US knew what was best for it. As mentioned earlier, Bush didn't make the decision himself, he acted after receiving advice from others. Not to mention we had to enter without the UN because many of those nations didn't have the same reasons -- 9/11 -- to enter. And if Iraq was clean, then why did Sadam refuse to allow UN inspectors into the country. And when he did, he regualted where/what they could search? Seems kind of fishy to me. Sadam had a bad history that didn't allow much space for us to take chances.
BTW, my views come from me. Both of my parents are Democrats along with my Grandparents and god only knows what my brother is...lol

Again I respect your decision to support the war. Which I haven't stated but I too support our troops just not the reasons. I will stand behind our troops 100%, but not the reasoning. I don't think it is too obvious that it was the best decision. This is worst times this country has seen in my 35 years of life. This is not a nation united, it is divided. That is not a good thing. I am well aware of what countries went in with the US. As for the 9-11 issue, Iraq had nothing to do with it and to my knowledge it has never been proven. My biggest and personal views is it wrong to send all these troops to their death and spend BILLIONS of $$$ too rebuild and investing in a country where that money could be put to good use right here in the US. Feeding the hungry and building homes and schools for the ones who foot the bill. I don't support my hard earned 20 years of taxed being used for that. As for Iraq being clean...I don't know, but would you want other countries coming to ours and searching our homes and buisness's and dictating what we should have and shouldn't?

It's easy for us to sit here and post what we "think" should be done. We don't know half the stuff that really goes on in our Government. Stop grilling Bush!

But, the last time I checked, were those countries threatening to use them on the U.S.? Not to mention, how much harder it would have been to invade North Korea. It's more isolated and Kim Sung would probly have started lobbing nukes every which way if the US had entered
