Job Openings 2018-19
#31
Strikeout King Wrote:Rumor has it that 2 years ago when Dave Fraley took the Powell job, that he told them he was only given them 2 years to finish out his career. I'm sure a lot of openings will happen.
I think he wanted that 700th win, he is stuck on 699 I think! So if he gets 1 win in the Region this year, he probably will retire.

Will he stay and coach even though his daughter graduates this year??

Word on the street is that Marcum and OBI president Larry Gritton, Jr. are good friends and were seen sitting together at some of the 49th district tourney. Could Marcum be OBI's next coach?

I wouldn't think so. Lee County was extremely young last season and will be in rebuild mode for another year or so then they should start getting the grove back.

is he gone? fired?

Would be a good hire if he is interested. His son with the middle school group Casey already has would make the Rebel future that much more brighter.

Sweet 16 being this week should lead to some interesting chatter. Seems like it always happens this time of year. Games are like a mini convention of coaches, fans, etc., so there's usually quite a bit on coaches and even players taking new paths.

Christian Academy of Louisville (CAL) could be an intriguing job opportunity.

They've recently stepped up their football program (Stephen LeFors, former Louisville QB is their head coach).

Their former basketball coach was named 7th Region Coach of the Year a few years back and went fairly deep in a regional tournament (you'd share a district with Ballard, but at least you'll always draw opposite of them for regional).

Could build by being a fixture in the All A tournament an potential over-achiever later on until things really got rolling.

A lot of things that could make it an attractive program if the commitment is also there from administration and the community.
