Lexington Christian 54 Knott County Central 44 (All A Classic)
#1
Final
#2
Knott County Central came out early and took the lead early on a very cold shooting Lexington Christian team in the first quarter. Lexington Christian was able to right its self and pull away late to secure their spot in the All A Championship Game tomorrow in Richmond.

KCC should have not even been down there. KCC got over 600 kids in the school.

Anybody have the 14th region school enrollment numbers handy to post?

Really? And where did you get your information?

Knott has 560 students.

Congrats to LCA.

Isn't enrollment based on grades 10-12 only for the all A? And I think the AD can turn in attendance records for the previous semester ...with that counting as the schools enrollment.

It’s 425 grades 10-12. So people would rather see a private school like LCA with almost an identical enrollment to Knott, be allowed to represent in the All A but not Knott County? Lol

I have always said, that schools that can legally recruit should have a separate tournament from public school systems..but oh well..it is what it is so you should put the best team you can on the floor and hope for the best, I watched most of the games at the All A and was at this game..Knott had a real chance of winning this game, couple bad turnovers on their part and a questionable call that allowed 6 quick points for LCA and to me that was the turning point of the game..Knott lead most of this match-up..represented their extremely small hometown very well! From my understanding, Knott is a very struggling community since coal business depleted..I like to see any underdog do well..But hats off to LCA, they kept fighting and was able to pull it off with some clutch free throw shooting..arguing whether KCC should or shouldn’t have been in the Tourney is ridiculous, KHSAA makes that call and I’m sure their numbers had to be within the allowed amount or they wouldn’t have been there, simple as that

I don't care what other region do. I am from the 14th region. if it is true about LCA, I hope Walton-Verona win the ALL A this year. I heard that Perry Co Central is going to play in the All A next year.

the KHSAA don't have nothing to do with this T-ment. the KHSAA just let there refs call this games.

I think that changed a while back to lowest 30% enrollment statewide instead of the 425 number. Somebody correct me if I’m wrong.

I disagree, there is nothing better than a public school beating a private. It's tough but doable, and very satisfying when it is done.

Was pulling for Knott. I agree that 6 points was a questionable call, But why do u let a kid catch it without no one even on him. I mean Ray Charles may of made that shot. The 2nd half LCA got to many wide open looks. It’s that simple.

But If your a team in the 14th u noticed one thing in this game and u should use it when you play Knott.

to get in to the all a tournament, which the khsaa doesn't host, they take the bottom 120 schools by enrollment to be in the tournament. I don't know about this year but a couple years ago knott was the 120th school. I still think it should be a true all a tournament.and I think that private schools do need to be separate unless they follow the same rules as the public schools but this is more prevalent in volleyball

That was the rule when the tourney started in 1990 because that's what the KHSAA used at the time for Class A football. It's changed since then.

My bad, I honestly had no clue the KHSAA didn't have anything to do with this tourney..learn something new everyday as they say..lol Who does then?
#19
Yep, I agree..they need to work on that before tournament time or it could just be what takes them out

With only 29 public Class A schools plus class A size public schools that don't play football, you would only have maybe 40-50 or schools. That would only average about 2 or 3 teams per region.
