BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) - A young child has died in an early morning fire in east Bakersfield.

Kern County Fire engineer Roberto Figueroa said they got the call just after midnight Wednesday.

Fire crews found a storage container fully involved with flames behind the Food Fair Market on Niles Street.

Figueroa said a family with three children were living in the storage container. One young child died in the fire. No word on other injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
