IMO, Corbin will be much better in 2018. I seen this as a rebuilding year honestly. The QB was good, but he's not high school Haddix good or irreplaceable. The defense really shocked me at how well they held togfethwr this year. I was expecting it to be their weakest point.
Corbin will be just fine. Next year they'll get to make it back to semi state at the very least, then move on to 4A where they get to kill Knox every year for fun.
It's going to be a good couple of years in Corbin, assuming Haddix stays

Corbin has talent for sure and they will be tough next season. But 3A is really good at the top and it's gunna be a struggle for anyone to win the title.
Can't wait for Spring practice.

I heard Bell was putting a sweet deal together for him. Itâs gotta be the fact he has never lost to them! If you canât beat the man, hire him! I may be wrong, but the only thing Haddix would leave for would be a major college job. What highschools in the area have facilities and support like us? Pretty sure his wife is a Dr. Too. I donât think he does it for the money anyways.

That is so Corbin. Willie Taggart goes to Florida State and all of a sudden Haddix is going with him! Don't worry about the fact that this is Taggarts 4th head coaching job, he was waiting on FSU before he offered Haddix a job on staff. Nice logic.

I don't know if true or not, however I don't think Haddix had done anything until now. I can't see him calling him from Perry. Also I wouldn't believe Taggart reaches out to him at all, but Haddix to Taggart. Florida State is not calling Haddix. Makes just a bit more sense. So this logic is not so bad if you have the ability to think at all. Haddix with a very good resume the last few years, to where this is believable, if and only if, he has a great friend in Taggart. Must have to think logically before you understand.

Like I said. This thought process is so Corbin. I used to date a girl from Corbin for 2 years, LOL.

For the record, every person who has posted about Haddix leaving has been a bell county supporter. I think this is a very "bell county" way of thinking. It's your coach who loves to run off every time he thinks the grass is a little greener or somebody hurts his pride a little. Keep it up with the wishful thinking though, the hounds will be putting in another great off season.

If you want this rumor to stop walk over to the Times Tibune and tell the paper boy to stop telling it. Has nothing to do with Dudley or Bell county posters.

I don't care about this rumor, I'm not responding to it and I'm not propogating it. Funny how that paper boy isn't telling that around Corbin. Maybe he just likes to see you folks from bell county squirm. As far as Dudley goes, history speaks for itself there. If somebody offers him more money, he'll be gone again.
12-14-2017, 08:36 PM
Like I said if it has any truth to it, Cudos to Coach Haddix. You act like we are bashing him. I think the rumor is believable, which speaks highly of him. If it makes you mad , your selfish.
12-14-2017, 09:15 PM
I don't think it's crazy because of coach haddix's coaching ability. I think it's very plausible which is why so many (especially bell county folks) have believed it. I think it's crazy because of how much he loves this town, team, and kids. I think he loves the support he has from both the school and community. I think he is entirely bought in to Corbin, but I also certainly think he is more than capable of coaching at the collegiate level if he wanted to.
12-15-2017, 12:58 AM
Don't let this go to personal insults.
12-15-2017, 02:03 AM
I don't know anything about the rumor but I will tell you that if he's offered a job at the D1 collegiate level and doesn't accept it I would have his head examined. That's no knock on Corbin or any other high school job (see Boyle Co and Chuck Smith 2004).
12-15-2017, 02:22 AM
Why would he need his head examined? His wife is a Doctor, he has 3 children, he loves his job. Going with those three points. He donât have to have the money, likes spending time with his kids and family, and where can you find a better high school gig than he has with as much community support?

I guess I was under the assumption that he was young and wants to pursue a coaching career. Making a few hundred thousand a year is a whole lot of money and can be a difference maker in life.

You don't think he would leave for way more money at Florida State?

I would tend to think one would want to be the best at their profession. Some of you Corbin fans must think he has reached the top. LOL I would think he would take his wife and kids with him and his wife would continue her career there. People can be happy in a lot of places. Now, do I think it is true...NOOOOO! I don't think he can get a job there. I also think he started this with an off handed comment, not meaning to. I was at the practices for the game last week and heard some others talking about it.

I have to agree with what you said. if he was offered a job at Florida State He and his family would be packed up and on the way to Florida already.

Wow Corbin. Wow. Some of you still have no idea how well respected in coaching circles Haddix is. Offensively heâs regarded as one the best high school coaches in the state. One of the very best.
At Perry games were won many times over far more talented teams by in game adjustments and motivating kids.
Perhaps you should enjoy having an up and coming coach of this caliber because you can rest assured you will see him on a sideline on Saturday at some point. He knows the game too well and loves it too much. Enjoy it while you can.

Only beat 8 teams with winning records in 4 years at Perry, and 5 of them were 3A or smaller schools. Haddix is a solid football coach and will continue to do very well for himself but the Perry argument isn't the greatest and still hasn't done anything major at Corbin that wasn't done before he got there. I hope no one takes that the wrong way, this is just an opinion from an unbiased casual observer.
