We (Casey) defeated Danville's current junior and sophomore class, 6-0 a few years back, without our best player and big play maker. He left after the first play with a broken finger. Unbelievably with all that talent Danville had our defense played lights out and one huge play by our current starting QB, playing QB back then made a play to our tight end, wide open in the middle of the endzone. Not to say that Danville didn't have talent on that team, but they weren't used correctly, IMO. No offense to that coaching staff, but I felt they could have won by 2 or 3 TDS. I think one thing Boyle middle has over Danville/Bate middle, is a better coaching staff. But I do believe Danville will struggle, as opposed to this season and last, next year. But when you lose a player like VanCleave, who in the heck wouldn't have some dropoff. Danville losses the Harris kid, Hill, Warren (big receiver), and Walker. I think their QB returns. Their coaching will get them wins, with enough talent to stay in the top 4 in 2A. I could even see them sneaking into the championship again. But they won't beat Boyle next year, not without some transfers, or maybe some kid that has quit, or has never played but is a phenomenal athlete that might come out to play...Just my opinion. And unfortunately I don't think they can play with Mayfield next year. But this title should rejuvenate their youth program and get more good kids out. Those Danville dad's that were players back in the 90s are going to have kids playing the next few years. If they are close to what their dad's where as players, they'll be right back in it again.

The game is real simple to recall
When you come to state you can't commit penalties that kill drives and you have to catch balls that hit you in the hands.
This was the first year in a while, where we showed up and looked like we had a little stage fright. We are young though.
Now it's time to make a new o line, get stronger and keep focused.

LOL, and now you try and make yourself feel better by calling someone out on their spelling, how petty. Next time I"ll add more dialogue and maybe we will get lucky and bore you all the way to sleep, you add nothing of value to debate except slurs because you lack the ability do so. I am not whining about the game, I gave credit to Danville as they deserve, you are obviously the loser here, you lack the ability to win with dignity and to me that is a loser. :biglmao:

I know that, i thought i would indulge him for a bit, it did not take long to figure him out, he brings nothing of value to a conversation and i'm done with him.

MF's OLine will be bigger next year. What they gain in girth, they lose in experience obviously. They are raw and young (except Barrett of course), but looked good in JV. Not sure if they will ask Barrett to shift sides with JS being a lefty. At least one spot is still available, maybe more. Competition begins in the weight room and it starts tomorrow afternoon.

Don't know who you are, maybe a troll, don't care, the system Clay Clevenger is got in place will develope a lot of kids. Also State Titles get higher interests in the program. Danville loses a lot of great players, but there will be more. If you think the future is so bad, maybe you should just check out and forget about the Admirals.

The deal is, if Danville didn't lose a lot of players to Boyle county, Mayfield would have about 8 less titles than they have. A lot of kids that do very well for Boyle, live right in the heart of Danville (the city). Not just those kids out in the country part of Boyle get them championships. And it's totally fair to say that. Boyle is the best school for academics in that area. A few student athletes that parents are really worried about education send their kids to Boyle, plus to play other sports and compete at a high level, track, soccer, even basketball. I can think of 5 kids you throw off of Boyle that live in Danville and Danville probably wins the game yesterday by as many as they want. They'd be able to beat the 5A champ most likely.

Mayfield, Murray, Owensboro Catholic region winner still has a great shot at making finals. Mayfield would be on the road in 3rd, and 4th round, but whoever wins the region championship wouldn't travel to the Louisville privates. They wouldn't play them until championship. Semifinals would be at the winner, of the regional champion from the Glasgow, Walton Verona districts. This is the new cross bracketing in effect. Region 1 is still districts 1, and 2, but region 2 who will be the semi-final opponent is districts 3, and 5. The Louisville privates are district 4, and are on the east side of bracket in 2018. Don't know what Murray will have, but if Mayfield can beat Ocath I like there chances of being in finals. Most likely be playing at Glasgow in semis.
12-04-2017, 08:05 AM
I like Mayfield chances of being in finals again, if they can develop some lineman, but if they get to finals they better have great line play, or probably get embarrassed badly as the winner between CAL/Desales/Danville/NCC/LCA/Somerset will be waiting. The Eastern bracket will be a beast next year.

I heard someone else say something of this the other day, i didnt know that was going to happen. Thats going to be a LONG road trip for whoever comes out of this region for the semi's.i cant see where Glasgow would be put in the west, that doesn't make sense, worse than having beechwood in the west in 1A,however If this is true i hope Beechwood moves up to 2A to beef up the west.

Not a troll or a Danville hater. Clay is a great coach. You will still have some great players. But you will not win another title under the current alignment for the foreseeable future because the talent pool is going to be a lot more shallow.

Danville loses players to Boyle for a lot of reasons, academics is one of them for sure.

It will be 4/5 years before Danville can give the Rebels a game, maybe longer. Can't remember the last time Boyle even had a tight game vs Danville in youth or middle school (VanCleave 8th grade year they beat Boyle maybe). Let's face it, this years high school game was a toss up and Boyle let it slip away.

Fans like Rookie57 and a couple of KillBilly have all been very classy. Even in their pregame posting.
But this is to point out the lunatics who said things prior to the game that made me smh.
Time Will Tell:
Not out of my mind.
They will dominate Danville. Sorry the state title was won vs. CAL.
The game plan they had on Milton Wright was outstanding. They will make Danville play with 1 hand tied behind their back. It's truly amazing what they can do at Mayfield. Joe Morris and the staff at Mayfield are the best. If not the state, definetley in 2-A.
Jackson Purchase:
Fast kids tend to slowdown when they get smoked. I bet he hadn't faced anyone quite like Mayfield.
If the ends can do there jobs, expect some bone cracking, smash mouth impacts. He's all heart and fight. If Vancleave doesn't love the game 100% it will be exposed.
Mysonis55:
After viewing the film in detail, I can see simple adjustments that will take away most of the Ads O.
CS17:
I have watched the film on Danville... and (yes this is a shot) they don't seem that impressive... it could be the level of competition they were playing, but the the opposing teams just had terrible fundamentals and didn't play the game well (filling holes, following guards, shedding blocks) I think they come into this game and meet a well coached and fundamentally sound team that rarely makes a mistake and plays fast and physical... and are in for the fight of their lives.
Sorry, but I had to try and point out that the bias can lead us to make some predictions that really aren't good.
I congratulate Mayfield on being one of the best programs in KY and for the majority of their fan base that has always been classy. Even some I quoted have handled the loss with dignity and I salute you guys.

It used to be the opposite in the 70's and 80's. Danville was perceived as the higher academic school. And I'm a BCHS grad from 1981.

Sometimes I believe that MS and Freshman records only serve to make us over optimistic about the future. Some kids drop off the teams, even good players. Some never develop more than their early performances.
I think you are right about Boyle vs. Danville but that has as much to do IMO with Boyle's game is being raised right now. They are going to miss their Seniors from this year but there is a bulk of Junior/Sophomore/Freshman talent that will keep them competing for the State title in the upcoming years.

Good point. Just because a team may not be able to compete with a certain team doesn't mean that relates to other teams.
I wish them well. #titletown

Mayfield fans for the most part have done what you expect on a internet board before the game and after.
You talk about why you think your team can win and then you talk about why your team won or lost.
In this case Mayfield fans talked about why they lost and what might have been done to reverse that. This makes for dialog which is why we are all on here.
