Madison played tough I was impressed with them even though they played a machine offensively..

MS scored 2 TDS. No one did that against their first defense all year.

Madison southern had some really big and strong dudes. The option gave Covington Catholic fits. Cov cath's defense had an off night. Regardless, cov cath won 49-13. That's just incredible. Good season for both teams....but the Covington Catholic 2017 football team is one of the absolute best high school teams I've ever seen play in the state. Congrats to the loaded coaching staff and the loaded roster. Enjoy your mark on history.

I'd just like to say once more how much fun I've had watching the cov cath coaching staff and team compete this year. They have truly achieved excellence. What a phenomenal season! Thanks colonels.

Covington Catholic has an incredible QB and offense. They were going to win and forced Southern's coaches to throw more when they went ahead. Southern could run when they wanted to and could have kept game/score close by running more, but tried to throw to win. Should have not tried trick plays. Catholic was what they were billed to be, dominant. Congrats to them. Proud of our boys and their effort!

Congrats to cov cath on another state title. Great season for the eagals who fought hard all year . One thing that disappointed me was the fact madison southern players had to be taken home by a parent or friend. Just dont see why the staff did not arrange buses. School busses droped the team off at the stadium but went back to madison county right after. The bus ride home from a state championship is a special moment. If southern would have pulled off the shocker and won. There would have been no escort back into town with the title.

That is sad .

Congrats to Cov Cath. Would of had charter buses for Central.

That is kind of pathetic . I would think it says volumes about the school. Not standing behind them very much. I know families that are very poor and couldn't afford to go.

Coach Clark posted this this morning...
After an awesome effort by our boys I am somewhat shocked and mostly ticked off to wake up today to certain people questioning and bashing administration and coaches for not busing back to Berea. To be clear, this was 100% MY CALL! In knowing how far our program and team have come it amazes me that some idiots out their will still do their best to find something to complain about, and it is usually the people who weren't with is from day one too.
I wanna make this very clear, for those of you who wanted to cheer us on from the roadside and felt you got robbed a chance to show support....maybe if you had shown up to a regular season game, or even the 1st round of playoffs, you would feel less cheated! You think your complaints are for our kids but you don't know our kids and what they want and value.
Our administion and staff went ABOVE AND BEYOND this week to make this a special experience for our boys and it was one they'll never forget. They left the game with their brothers and families to spend more quality time together after an monumental achievement. Our program and team is about family, not bus trips! I have been to these things before and Madison Southern did this THE RIGHT WAY, ALL THE WAY!
So for those out there who question our motives of support for our kids with a bus ride, after the amazing season our kids had, go ahead and vacate your seat on the bandwagon you jumped on because we won't be driven that truck and trailer back to Berea either!

I have no idea what he is saying there?? What's the point of the team not returning to school as a unit?

I also don't know why he is responding to criticism on social media. I would have said water off a ducks back if it were me.

It is and was, but from what I was told some of you goons making this an issue caused people from way high up questioned if Madison Co Schools would not fund this...it didnât affect anybody on here so it doesnât matter, Coach always preaches family and he thought it was good for those kids to have the immediate time after to have with family because these kids have been zeroed in on football since July 12. I know some of you were just saying, but part of the problems in this world is outside people sticking their nose where it donât belong. Iâm guilty of that at times myself, but I thought and everybody else from Southern wanted it that way and thatâs all that matters.

I'll just say it's an usual decision and more power to him since he's the top dog. Also, if he feels that strongly about his decision why respond to internet negativity? Kinda small in my estimation.

I had a close family friend on the team. He actually left with me from the game. I was there waiting for the players to come out and not everyone from southern was in favor of the decision. They thought they should have been with there teammates who they had invested so much time with. I guess coach clark can do what he wants but this is a safety issue as well. This was a school event and you had majority of players leaving with parents but i also saw players leaving with other students. Stood there by the locker room talking for a while. Never seen anyone sign out anyone. Thats a hugh relieability on the school.

I have done team and individual sports and can say I would ALWAYS want to be with my team after a game win or lose. Can't understand any good reason not to unless school just could not pony up the money for a bus. Just seems like an extremely dumb coaching move.

While i agree it is a Southern issue, people are gonna still have opinions, but good to see there’s a coach with thin skin. Addressing social media things is one thing, but just calling everyone that had a question about it bandwagon jumpers and other childish phrases is another.

I didn't comment so I could piss off Coach Clark OR because I'm a goon, but good Lord!! How odd is this situation?? My comment came from me because I've never heard of a situation like this before in my life. And believe me, I've been around high school sports for about 50 years.
