Floyd Central 58 Perry Central 50
#1
Final, second win for the jags
#2
Didn't hoghead say PCC was better this year then last? I would love to hear his/her thoughts now.
#3
This game is no indication of how good Perry is, I would like to see the stats in this one especially the charge count.
#4
Floyd Central was a good team, Perry will be ok, but not a great team. Adair was ranked 13th, but lost like 5 seniors so don't know how they are ranked that high. PCC will have a hard time getting out of the 14th this year.

Perry is not at the level they were last year. They will be competitive but not at the level of the last few years. Peace be among us.

First off, I love Floyd Central's gym. It looks great, but I think the gym at South Floyd held more people. Parking was a hassle but they had a bus to shuttle people to the door.

It's the first game of the season for the Commodores who only return one starter and only the second game in the history of the Floyd Central program - these teams will probably look completely different at the end of the year.

Most of Perry's woes were at the offensive end with unforced errors (charges, travels, etc.). The charge calls were a hot topic for anyone Perry's side of the gym, but I think it was honestly a handful of 50-50 calls that just didn't go their way. You can just about expect that when you're traveling to another region. Floyd Central hit some tough shots during a run in the fourth that really put this one away.

These teams could possibly meet up again next week in a neutral environment that will give us another look at them, but it's still REALLY early in the season.

Cant foul out half of the team and expect to win 15th officals are terrible. I see them play again on a nuteral site.

Congrats to Floyd Central
#10
Congrats Jaguars! Parking is a huge problem for football and basketball and will continue to be sadly..

I heard Cornett kid fouled out in the third quarter and my friend that is a Floyd fan said some of the charging calls were terrible. And I always wonder what it means when people say that when you go to a different region you should expect the refs to call a certain way. If that's true then those refs should be suspended. We are all khsaa refs and all have the same rules and all go to the same classes. If an official calls different because a team is from a different region then they aren't much of a refferee

Until coaches stop scratching and rating based off the calls they get it will always be that way. If your a 15th region ref and a 3rd region team is there. Who do you give the 50/50 to? The team you never see or the guy who controls your schedule?
Thats why people say its hard to go to another region and win. I dont like this. I dont think coaches should be able to scratch in the middle of season. They also shouldn’t have as much say over who calls their games. I think the regions assigners know who’s capable of calling and who’s not.
Then season ended ratings for post season should be based on how good a ref is, not how good or bad the outcome of a game was during the season. Were they on time? Dressed and groomed neatly? Good mechanics? Huslte? Judgement and rules knowledge? These are way more important then did you win or lose when they were there.

That's just the way it is folks.

I hate it as much as anyone else, but the 15th gets treated the same way when they come to the 14th.

I couldn't help but laugh a little in the fourth quarter the other night when FOUR consecutive trios up the court ended with a charge call against Perry Central.

Everyone in here knows I always take up for refs because I wore a whistle for a while myself, but every once in a while I just scratch my head.

We'll just have to wait and see what happens if these two teams play next week on a neutral court with refs from another region.

I’m surprised at all the comments about the refs and how many charges were called. Not one person wants to say FC played a great game. In fact PC was up by seven when Tackett left the floor with an injury. He was out several minutes and did FC give up? The Jags took the lead! Now one was robbed and a charge is a charge on both ends. If the player has position; it’s a charge.

Calm down there, big guy.

This is a huge downfall to the millions of dollar facility. How did they not anticipate parking to be such a hassle when deciding on the blueprints? Then as well as the gym, it’s nice but the layout is awful in my opinion.

My understanding is that coaches can’t scratch in the middle of the season, only in preseason.

Like Zaga pointed out they hit some big shots late. If that was them playing good and both teams meet again this week at the wymt I have a feeling the jags go home with a 15 point loss

I was wondering the same thing. Imagine the cost that the county is going to incur during the lifetime of this school by having to hire a bus driver for all these games. Floyd County bus drivers are some of the highest paid in the state. Also, doesn't liability become an issue if there is some type of accident on or with these buses.

From what I hear in Patriot town, they have changed the way they are assigning officials for the WYMT tournament. During every game they are assigning one ref from the 13th, 14th and 15th region. So we will not have crews that are used to working together or even know each other. Guess we will see how that goes.

Was one of the Officials from Perry county but refs in the 15th??????

PCC fans on this site seem to hang onto wins and make constant excuses when they lose. Just play and stop blaming everyone else for the losses. Every game I have ever went to has had missed calls.

Every team that has every lost one fan or another always says it's the ref in this case Brahma it was one ref. Of course nobody is perfect and every game will have some missed calls sometimes its just blatant what's going on

im just curious how many charges were called on Floyd central. and with the cornett kid fouled out they didn't need there guard. without cornett perry is a totally different team. and 50/50 calls are different but when you obviously make a bad call then your just cheating a bunch of kids
#27
1 illegal screen against Floyd central, I'll even say that 6 of the charges called could have been 50/50 out of the 11 charge calls u just don't see that.
#28
I've been watching basketball all my life and never seen 11 charges called in one game against one team without officials cheating
#29
What did the officals gain? You think someone paid them for an early regular season game? Who cares that much?
Every game has at least 2 cameras at all times. Ill say it again. What adult cares enough about this outcome to risk losing their license?
Bad calls? Maybe, probably.
Cheating? I dont see it.

New format for officials in WYMT Classic. Each game will have an official from each region(13th,14, 15th). Worked very well opening night.
