The Perfect Thanksgiving Meal?
#1
What is the perfect Thanksgiving meal for you? I'm not talking about having the dinner with a certain person(s) or anything mushy like that. I'm talking about food. What has to be on the table and on your plate for the meal to be perfect?

BTW: Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to you sweetheart!!!

I have lots of great eaters in my family! About half want ham, sweet potato casserole, deviled eggs, fried corn and hot rolls. While the other half want turkey, dressing, gravy, mashed taters, green beans and cornbread.

THAT is my menu every year.

Also, everybody gets their choice of desert. Mostly, I will do a pumpkin layer cake, butterscotch four layer pie, banana pudding and something chocolate.

Remember, most of these are football players and one cheerleader! lol

This would be the perfect meal to me.

Turkey
Dressing (A very small amount)
Ham (Not the spiral kind. I like the kind that comes in a can.)
Mashed Potatoes
Potato Salad
Green Beans
Cole Slaw
Rolls

Fruit Salad

I would fit into the second group.

Granny Bear, you didn't tell us what you like.

Well that's the problem....I like everything!! lol

Westy, I cannot believe you like canned ham!!Tongueuke:

You need to buy you a semi-boneless Cumberland Gap ham!!!!
(never get boneless!!! losing too much flavor!)

Wash all the yucky bone meal off the outside of the ham, and slow cook it at 250 for about 10 to 12 hours.

Let me know how that compares to canned ham!!

I've tried different spiraled hams, and they are ok, but I prefer my ham come in a can. That is how nature intended it. Confusednicker:

I was fortunate enough to just eat it a few hours ago:

Thankfully my Mother-in-law has a two tender and tasty turkey streak going. She's had a few really dry birds and i hate smothering bird in gravy.

It's always my responsibility to carve both birds and a ham. We have about 20-25 folks to feed. I'll enjoy ham at Christmas but many family members look forward to it today! So as for the favorite meal...

-Tender Turkey
-Dressing
-Mashed Taters with a dab of gravy
-Jalapeno Corn Casserole ( my sister-in-laws ) it is out of this world good

I'm not much on desserts except for today. I went a new route versus my normal pecan pie with a dollup of cool whip and went with a small slice of cheesecake.

A couple glasses of red wine to compliment the meal and I AM GOOD!

Hope you all are enjoying a blessed day!
