I hear you. I said myself that they'd go 9-2 or 8-3 but I meant to say 9-1 or 8-2, which is obvious since we don't play a 11 game season. Lol! It don't matter though, we're playing our best football right now which is what happens about this time of the year on Pond Creek. I just hope we can get through (and win!) these first 2 games without getting anyone hurt. We've been really lucky this year with injuries. I don't think we've had any injuries at all this entire season have we?

It has been for the past couple of years. Going to ride this wave as long as we can. As we all know, all good things always comes to an end. IMO, Belfry will be this strong the next 2-3 years. This Sophomre group we have right now was the last to win the middle school championship. They were the first to go undefeated in doing so (at Belfry that is). My son is in this Sophomore group that's why I've kept up so much with it. After his class I'm not really sure how things look. But Belfry will always be competitive, whether they'll be state championship competitive I just don't know. But like I said, we'll take it while we can get it!

Well....I for one, didn't expect to get thru the regular season with only 1 loss. In looking at the schedule....and also knowing what had to be replaced from last season....I definitely could see 3 or 4 legitimate losses sitting out there.
Kudos to 99 for predicting as minimal losses as possible. However......I will say this.....IMO, this has been a banner year for Belfry's coaching staff. We all know that Belfry's staff is very, very special...and has been for some time. But, I think this year....they've elevated their game even more. The development we've seen on the offensive and defensive fronts have been nothing short of amazing. When you consider the talent and experience lost via graduation....and....that this year's squad has picked up from where we left off in Bowling Green last year...the staff deserves a tremendous amount of credit. I'll gladly take my crow on a baked bun....with a little bacon please

I agree, the coaching staff has done a great job as always. But the reason I thought Belfry would only lose 1 or 2 games was the fact that look what our lines had to compete with day in and day out last year at practice alone. Those boys got more experience at practice than they ever would in any game last year. That's not throwing off on any of our opponents last year that's just facts. Those boys got beat to death by that massive line every day and kept coming back for more. Not only that, imagine the game knowledge that this year's line gained from our outgoing seniors on how to block, how to make the right reads, etc. The best part is that we only have 1 offensive lineman that's a senior. This group we have are young. I think Belfry will be just as strong the next 2-3 years if they stay healthy. But you can't play and learn without coaches and Belfrys staff is second to none.
