His first name us Steve. Great man, great coach and a great mentor. Did not work out at Logan County but very happy to have him at Tilghman. Get ready for three yards and a cloud of dust.

What do you mean it didn't work out at Logan? He never intended to be there a long time. He left when he wanted to.

From what I have seen he may be exactly what PT needs to at least get the ship righted and pointed in the right direction.
Respected guy, level headed, builds it the right way.
Will this live up to the delusions of grandeur that Tilghman is suddenly going to become a dominant program? Not sure... but I do think at the very least he will bring much needed stability, discipline, and direction and even if Tilghman just "gets back to normal" that is a pretty darn good place to be as a program.

There are some who would say going 0-20 in two years means it did not work out for him there.

There are some who say when you have 0-20 players you go 0-20. They lost 13 in a row before he got there and lost 9 more in a row after he left. There is a great deal wrong with Logan County Football. The head coach is one piece of a puzzle. Same at Tilghman. Things on the field aren't going to change because Duncan is a good coach. The only way Tilgman will change is if Duncan can change the people around him.

He will right the ship at PT if he can keep Randy Wyatt off the ship.

Any coach is hired to win or at worst, to lose less frequently. Admittedly the problems there did not start or stop with him. But he was unable to turn the tide at LC and he apologized to the fans and school for his outcomes, which was a classy thing to do. The buck ultimately stops with the coach.
I don't know of a better man that Tilghman could have hired for the job, given the circumstances. The issues he confronts: wildly inconsistent and penalty prone play; the dynamic with Wyatt; lukewarm fan support; losing several seniors, etc. The student behavior and attitudes he will encounter will test him. He did an outstanding job at Murray, sent several players to the next level, and he is a big believer in players being in the weight room (and eating tuna.) Hoping he can get some spring workouts in and organize the lifting. His first objective will be to encourage more kids in the school to participate.
