Perry Central 74, Buckhorn 43
#1
Buckhorn lacked any offense whatsoever in the first quarter and could never make it a ballgame. They eventually stopped the bleeding and found some offense, but they were down 20 in the first quarter before you could blink.

Perry distributed the ball well. Tobler only had 4 points but probably had a dozen assists. The bigs sat the second and fourth quarters.

Buckhorn was in a similar position at this point last year and fought their way to Rupp.

Best of luck to the 54th next week!

Zaga, they are not fighting their way to rupp this year. Just not happening. PCC will be in the final four at rupp if the 15th region refs don't Rob them in the region.

The buckhorn faithful were at Combs arena tonight in big numbers but I don't think they had a clue just how good PCC is. They could have beat them 50.
#4
Folks can call me crazy, but I just refuse to count out the Wildcats.

I yield this is a completely different situation with the athletes Perry has and Buckhorn without a stud like Conor Hoskins in the lineup, but I've seen people count them out before and I've seen them prove people wrong.

It would take a bad night for Perry and a great night for Buckhorn - but remember Perry had to go to OT with Hazard and Knott took them the distance a while back. Perry is beatable, but when they're on their game no one can touch them around here.

Love to watch Bickhorn play

If there was ever a night to rob a bunch of houses on Gays Creek, it was tonight.

*this post does not condone robbery

Perry is a great team
#8
Buckhorn played as hard as they could

I've watched the horn for many years and you can count on one thing they will play their hearts out. I'm a PCC fan first but in any other game I'm for Buckhorn because they never quit on a game no matter what the odds are. Congrats to our 2 district reps and good luck

Zaga, there was no overtime with hazard but Knott did play us a good game.

I need to quit posting right before I go to bed lol
Breathitt was the game I was thinking that played them close and Perry came back, but I don't know why I said overtime with Hazard. My old age is getting to me.

Im not going to say Perry going to the sweet 16. They have to fight there way there and after last years debauckle any things possible. And to say they be in the Final 4 of the sweet 16 thats way out there.
#13
They are the best team , but sometimes the best team don't win .
#14
Is this the year Perry Central can actually do something at the Sweet 16?

"Is this the year they actually go to the Sweet 16?" is the better question...

The big boys will be the difference and they will go to Rupp

If I had a dollar for every time a PCC fan said this year in and year out, I would be one of the richest people on earth! Paparazzi, fans like you say stupid stuff like this every season and get proven wrong every season. I am not saying your recruits won't win the regional tournament, but I would think that you would've learned by now that you can't count anyone out until it's all over. PCC is not an unbeatable powerhouse program, like many of you want to believe. According to many PCC fans in 2012, 2013, and 2016, PCC was unbeatable and Semi-finals bound. Quit counting your chickens before they hatch, pal!

I believe that too.
I was just saying Perry hadn't been in a while.
Braxton Beverly's seventh year was the last time they made the trip. A couple of teams after that probably should have, but they underachieved.

I believe you're wrong again pal lol Perry hasn't been since 2010/2011

Braxton left his junior year . He played senior year at the prep school. Perry lost to knott that year. The only year Braxton played at Rupp was when he was still in grade school .

If perry doesnt go this year with the team they have, i dont know what the future will be for the program. They have a kid 6'9, 6'8, 6'7, 6'4 freak, 6'3 shooting guard that dont miss, and a slew of role players that are good. This is their year to go and make some noise. They dont win the region its gonna be so disappointing for the school and county fans. I think Perry has a chance to win the whole thing. Shannom better cherish this opportunity, wont see it again for a very long time.

Nope. You can take that one to the bank.

Braxton Beverly was in the 7th grade, not a senior.

Apparently you haven't looked at the pairings. They play the 15th region in the first game , which is a easy win. Them they play the winner of the 13th and 10th. Either one of those is a very winnable game. That puts them in the final four. There's nothing way out there about it.

I meant seventh grade year, not seventh year...

Buckhorn is in a really competitive side of the bracket.

They lost to Corbin and Knox collapsed in the 4th quarter or they lose to them at Home. Perry may win the first game maybe, but dont count on the second one. But first you got to get there and for Perry Central that has been there problem for the past several years. There a lot can happen in the next week or two.

I think the 15th region officials are calling the 14th regional tournament if so I don't think that should be allowed for any region. they are going to determine who plays there region in the state tournament and that's not right. Listen I said this before the region started, all the fouls in the first half will be called on the ig boys and they will foul out of at least 2 games.
